"I, John Kerry, had a plan to have Christopher Reeve up and walking from day 1 of my Presidency....."///sarc
Pray for W and Our Troops
So I guess A) Kerry had no idea his good friend was slipping in and out of a coma, with systemic infections from festering wounds, and that B) That Kerry was a little late and a dollar short on that walking thang.
I'm thinking no.
I'm thinking yes. Remember how Kerry cut to the front of the line at the Reagan memorial? How can he resist this tailor-made photo-op?
< /democratic bullshit tear jerker mode>
Kerry did make a strong argument in that direction in the debate........It's not sarcasm at this point.
An old Indian woman who I know through a series of acquaintances, claims that Kerry has the sacred Indian touch/look of death. This is supposed to mean in sacred Indian culture and sacred Indian tradition that if some one with this sacred Indian curse "notices" you, you die. Didn't Kerry mention Reeves in the last debate? Could it be that poor, brave Reeves is dead solely because of Kerry and this sacred Indian curse? Remember when Kerry noticed that Vietnamese child from his Swiftboat and machine gunned him to death as he tried to run away? There may be something to this!!
Please don't drag the beloved Thurston Howell III down to the level of John Kerry.
Ergh!! It's sad that Christopher Reeve died, but stem cell research won't help him now. Even if it was being done the way he wanted it still wouldn't have helped. There are a handful of other resources for stem cells, yet they still keep harping on embryonic research.
The convention center and speakers list has already been arranged for the Reeves Party....I mean Funeral. Ed Asner, Michael Moore, Susan Sarandon, And Seann Penn will be speaking. All are scheduled to appear in 2006 in a movie where they are all PHD biologists and are stem cell experts, which makes them qualified to speak at the Reeves Rally....errrr, Funeral.
I agree with you..."he was only an actor."
What did he do to "champion the cause" BEFORE it affected HIM?
Kerry knew during the debate that Reeve was dieing. He was in a coma. That's why he dropped his name. Now he will cash in on it.
To call Reeve a "true American hero" is demeaning the true meaning of the word.
Reeves was no hero.
He was a 3rd-rate actor (Ever see him in any movie besides Superman? When playing a real human being, he was dreadful!). When injured living a life of luxury and leisure, he fought for vain, desperate hopes for what might keep him alive, even if it caused the deaths of millions. Contrary to mythology, he sunk into bitter, violent anger, pouring every ounce of derision he possibly could on Christianity and America. And then he simply died.
"... especially those in most need of thy Mercy."
I knew it!
Christopher Reeve was an "American Hero"?!?!? Enough already! As unfortunate as his accident was, he chose to participate in a potentially dangerous sport. It's not like he was out making a living and became the victim of a drive-by shooting, or was hit by a drunk driver,or involved in a farming accident, or had breast cancer, or any of the other things that happen to hard-working non-celebrities everyday.
To the liberal elite, it's only a tragedy when it happens to one of them! Then their twisted logic justifies the use of abortion-harvested embyonic stem cells. "South Park" may seem cruel, but the episode dealing with Christopher Reeve pointed right to the heart of this hypocrisy.
I believe his hopes were in nerve regeneration not stem cells and I believe he talked about it early on. The thought that he died from an infected bedsore gives a hint that he had other problems that no one is talking about. You mean no one noticed a bedsore??? and it got that far?
I bet the real story is Kerry KNEW that Reeves was near the end, and dropped his name so they can turn around say "see, W killed Superman".
Kerry will probably blame Bush for not reaching out to the Hall of Justice...
Yes, I think Kerry will be shameless in trying to exploit Reeve's passing as well. Wouldn't surprise me to see him give a eulogy at Reeve's funeral.
