Part II: The Days After: Flashback: Bush "Tired of Swatting at Flies"; Kerry Sees Terrorists as "Nui
CBS News ^ | Sept. 10, 2003

In the cabinet room, the president made clear what was next: “The deliberate and deadly attacks which were carried out yesterday against our country were more than acts of terror, they were acts of war.”

To the war cabinet, al Qaeda was no surprise. National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice says the administration had been at work on a plan to strike bin Laden’s organization well before Sept. 11.

“The president said, ‘You know I’m tired of swatting at flies, I need a strategy to eliminate these guys,’” recalls Rice.

When I heard Kerry calling terrorism a "nuisance", I was reminded of how President Bush lead us out of that dangerous September 10th mentality of "swatting at flies."

This comparison needs to be made.

Kerry returns our policy of response to a fly-swatter.

Kerry returns our policy of response to a fly-swatter.

Add flyswatters to the list of Kerry props. In addition to the flip-flops.

The RATS still act as it 9/11 never happened. I really believe they think it was our fault we were attacked on that day and they have more compassion for terrorists than their own citizens. President Bush's response was right and it has put the terrorists on the run.

If Kerry had half a brain, he'd have learned to keep his pie-hole shut on this topic, but noooooo....

Memo to Karl Rove: Lock and Load! This is OUR issue, OUR rules of engagement now apply!

The RATs are still pretending that terrorism didn't exist prior to 9/11.

Kerry continues to reflect the state of denial the Democrats are in regarding 9/11. If Kerry wins, it means America hasn't been hurt badly enough to seriously take up arms against terrorists; a condition that AQ and co. will eventually remedy.

since the source here is SeeBS, the attempt is being made here

to show how kerry's "nuisance" remark is NO DIFFERENT than

the President referring to terrorists as "flies". See that ?

Oh, I saw that clearly.

Problem is, it doesn't work. ;-D

If it DID work, it would be headlines. But it doesn't.

This article is over a year old.
I made the inference, not CBS.

The idea here is that Bush made the decision to depart the Clinton era policy of "swatting at flies" which lead to a whole lot of nothing, and to engage the terrorists in all out war.

Kerry still sees terrorism through the prism of September 10th. He still sees terrorism as a "nuisance", like those flies that Clinton would occasionally swat.

Kerry just said that we need to return to the Clinton law enforcement approach to terrorism, and the comparison of "nuisance" to "swatting at flies" is the most succinct way of exposing just where Kerry really stands.

Kerry's "tough talk" on the campaign trail has been nothing but empty rhetoric. He still lives in a September 10th world. His facade has finally cracked, and the light of day is starting to shine through.

bootyist-monk did a great job with that picture.

It summarizes the elitist Kerry and his hatred of Americans so well.

Yep.
"Swatting at flies" is so 9/10.
That's where Kerry wants to "get back to".

Flies are "nuisance", that's why you just swat at them.
Bush sees terrorism as a global war, that's why he blows them up.

One of my oldest friends said that he hopes that Kerry is remembered by conservatives like Mondale and Dukakass after the election in November.

We will remember him as left wing joke and a gift for our side like Mondale and Dukakass.

Kerry & Edwards are constantly talking about the $200 billion spent to rebuild Iraq.

This is $200b for Medicine, Education, Police, Fire, Harbor patrol, securing Nuclear facilities....

Leadership is about choices. They choose to spend $$$ here believing they can protect USA by National "Neighborhood" Watches.

What is worse, is they salivate at spending that money here, knowing full well it requires Burocrats to Administer, Union contracts to award, Union employees to engage, democratic largess to seek future IOUs....
