About the Voters' Guide.

In every statewide election over the last 20 years, we have produced Voters' Guides to educate Texans about candidates' stances on the issues. In 2002, we reached 3.5 million Texans!

By being an active participant you acknowledge…

that to exercise your right to vote is a privileged freedom that responsibility as concerned citizens to remain free to vote comes at the price of participation that when you know where a candidate stands on important issues, you will vote more intelligently Why do I need a Voters' Guide?

Too often the media focuses on the “horse race” aspect of a campaign, neglecting to report on candidates’ positions on issues, leaving voters in the dark. Use our Voters' Guide to find out how a candidate stands on issues that are important to you, your family, and your community.

As elections approach, we’ll let you know how to order the Voters' Guides. Free Market Foundation relies on the work of supporters who donate their time to distribute the Voters' Guide in their local communities. If you would like to become involved in this program, please think about becoming a distributor for the next election. Additionally, consider supporting the Voters' Guide program financially as it is an extremely costly endeavor.

How is it put together?

We send each candidate a questionnaire via certified mail and complete a rigorous follow-up procedure, making every effort to attain a response from each candidate. The questions are posed to allow the candidates to address issues as they would be addressed legislatively – meaning candidates must answer questions in support or oppose, just as they would be required to on the floor of the legislature.

What is the law for churches to distribute Voters' Guides?
