If I seem overly optimistic about tonights debate, well too bad.

Bush`s performance in the first debate was unfocused and defensive. Kerry may have won on debate points, but his inability to express a substantive alternative policy agenda, I called it a draw. Public opinion said Kerry won. So be it.

In the second debate, I said Bush needed to be more mentally focused, less defensive, better prepared and he needed to challenge Kerry on his 20 year Senate voting record. Bush came prepared, focused and he defended his record without being defensive. Bush was also combative. Good for him. While Bush didn't challenge Kerry as much as I thought he should have, I think he still won the second debate. Public opinion said it was a draw or a close win for Kerry. So be it.

I think in tonights debate, people will be surprised at how good PresBush will perform. I think Bush needs to challenge Kerry at every opportunity and stay combative, even aggressive. I think the President is ready to defend his economic agenda and call Kerry for what he is. A big government bureaucratic, big taxing liberal.

You were right, I'm glad to say. My concerns were unfounded.
