"The rules don't matter. The reputation of the country doesn't matter. The political health of the nation doesn't matter. Power matters."

That statement is the exact, concise platform of the democrat party.

JSYK, if you put an onion in it instead of an olive, it's not a martini. It's a Gibson.

But the Democrats are willing to treat - in advance - my vote, and all it represents, with feigned contempt. So I can't, in return, treat the Democrats with anything less than genuine contempt.

Bears repeating out of respect for the sheer poetry of the line.

They're trying, however inadvertently, to destroy the Republic in order to rule it..

Profound words to be deeply contemplated - then TAKE ACTION!

I have yet to see the Republicans encouraging their own to commit fraud by shouting "Fraud!" where none yet exists, putting at risk everything we've built here in the last 228 years.

This is a tactic the democrats use to muddy the water. It's like a Magician's slight of hand. It is used to distract people from what is really going on and cause people to question reality. It's a trick - and a dirty one at that.

Absolutely spot on. I would go further, in fact, on the voter registration card.
First - show proof of citizenship before you can get one.
Next - display English speaking/reading skills

The card should be laminated with picture and thumb print and have scanner code on back.

BEFORE you can vote, you swipe your card, sign your name, and scan your thumb print.

ENOUGH of this democrap nonsense.

And by the way ... there is nothing in the Constitution that guarantees one the right to vote.

But for the first time in 16 years, I'm going to vote Republican straight down the line. If I have to punish a couple of local Democrats I'm fond of, then so be it, but I have to try to get a point across: The national Democratic Party is bad for this country.

I am planning on doing the exact same thing, and made the decision almost a year ago. I am even voting against two personal acquaintances who are running as Democrats for relatively meaningless local positions, and who I fully believe would serve the public with integrity. I simply can no longer vote in good conscience for any member of the Democratic Party under any circumstances. They have become far too corrupt, and must be stripped of as much power as possible from top to bottom, until they either clean up their act from within or collapse entirely and are replaced by an entirely new party.

Given all the threats the dems are touting today, Kerry claiming victory, claim intimidation where none exists, etc., I suspect it's going to backfire and many more dems and independents will break for Bush. What do you think?

Reading your post made me realize how lucky I was raised, I was pushing for Nixon in 4th grade...

LOL I still have my notebook from 6th grade. It has a Ford sticker on it.

Same thing in my case. I have never voted a straight ticket in my life. I used to favor Liberals, but even then I'd vote for a Rep. And I have yet to vote for a Dem President despite those former leanings, because Gore and Clinton were my only choices.

I cringed a bit at automatically plugging in a vote for all Reps this time. I usually give more consideration at local levels. Not this time. Straight Rep all down the line. A vote even for a decent Democrat at the local level is a vote for a corrupt Dem at the higher level. I will never support attempts to overthrow our governement, that means "NO" to every Dem that comes down the aisle, good or bad.

For me, the turning point came when the Dems nominated Clinton, and all I could see were red flags surrounding him.

I'm glad you've begun to question all of the liberal hype you've been taught. Welcome to the light.
