This is the strategy of a desperate and deeply dishonest man who has surrounded himself with others who share his lack of shame and honor.

This is nothing but good news folks. It indicates a high level of fear and desperation in the Kerry campaign. This is a dead horse issue.

There's also a great potential that you are going to have to go back to seat in the Senate too. Perhaps you can get more than 5 bills passed into law then?

I think the 5 laws that Kerry passed should be sent in e-mails to all our friends and family -- even DemoRAT supporters. I think they would be shocked, as I was, to see what little he has done in over 20 years. The lack of substance in those 5 laws alone should help defeat him.

Karl should buy time on MTV and the Hip-hop stations stating Bush's anti-draft stance. Also point out that the draft is the dems idea....see recent bill and vote!!!

I think this issue may be his only hope. The polls suggest that even though Bush has repeatedly denounced the idea of a draft, young voters still suspect he will do it. That's why Kerry is doing it, and it may be working.

Of course, any reasonable person would realize it makes no sense. Bush has no power on his own to restore the draft even if he wants to, and the Congress just voted nearly unanimously not to do it. There is no need for a draft, and won't be unless Kerry is elected and decides to increase the number of troops, as he's promised.

I am glad he is doing this because it smacks of desparation in a big way. I bet his internals are terrible.

Moreover, the Bush campaign should ask where Kerry would get ANY troops since the majority will drop out if he's elected due to sheer, unadulterated hatred towards him for the shame he brought to our vets.

Funny, it was KERRY who said he would ADD 100,000 to the military. Sounds as if HE would be the one to bring in a draft (probably by admitting gays). President Bush specifically said no and ALL Rs VOTED NO on draft amendment. The MSM is despicable. How do they look themselves in the face?

O. K. I said this in an earlier thread. It's time for the Prez to USE THE BULLY PULPIT. Call a press coference to settle this question once and for all and define sKerry as the fear-monger he is trying to frighten young adults and breed anxiety in their parents.

Mr. President, it's time to use everything at your disposal as an incumbent. USE THE BULLY PULPIT / CALL A PRESS CONFERENCE.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

He hasn't called press conference, but he's said over and over that he won't do it. He said it in the debate. Kerry and the media just keep lying.

It's at a point where making a big to-do about it is not helpful. He should just keep saying he's not going to do it.

USE THE BULLY PULPIT / CALL A PRESS CONFERENCE.

You're not wrong and I suspect he will before the day is out. I was just listening to Rush and he mentioned that a report came out that Bush was polling well with the college crowd and he thinks that's why Kerry revived this draft scare today.

Of course, the media just says, "we are not biased. We're just reporting what Kerry says."

They only report the things that Kerry says that they want to report. You had to read the back page in order to know that Kerry had proposed to give enriched uranium to Iran.

The only way will have a draft is if Kerry is elected because there will be a great exodus from the Military. Soldiers do not want to serve under John Kerry.

I love it. It's already been pointed out at least four times on this thread, but this is a desperate act by Kerry. Mary Cheney, the faith healer comments by Edwards, the draft scare...it's part of a pattern. Kerry knows he's standing in quicksand.
