correction:
RHODESIA's youth were once considered Africa's brightest, graduates of one of the continent's best education systems which bred sophistication, confidence and ambition.
the place has been slipping since the name and regime change.

But the economy has crumbled and, with it, opportunity.
With Mugabe in power, who woulda thunk it?

this is Rhodesia's bad karma coming back on it for going back
on it's post 'Independence' promise to allow the white people and farmers to stay ,un-harrassed . And to allow for a multi-ethnic society. Robert 'Terr' Mugabe ruined all that with his insanity and hatred and greed. The collective karma of the nation follows.
I have always thought that the USA should allow all white farmers ,under stress and duress in Rhodesia, to easily migrate
to the US and offer them a stake in the great MidWest.
I really feel sorry for those poor people, somebody should help them.

For President Robert Mugabe, all this is excellent news. What more needs to be said? Except that the Left still (in so far as I know, because I've heard no complaints) still loves Robert Mugabe. Which tells one much about the Left.
IMHO we should relocate UN HQ from NYC to Harare, now! Both locales should be happy at the outcome, not to mention the vast majority of UN delegates who would feel much more at home in Harare than in the USA.

The left loves all types of dictators, Saddam Hussein, Mullamar Omar, Juan Peron, Adolf Hitler, Salvador Allende, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, and Pol Pot.

And Carter won the ignoble prize, too.
Both men have helped bring about pockets of hell on Earth, yet the liberal elites consider them "peacemakers."

Back in the Rhodesia days there were about 200,000 whites there. Does anyone have a rough count of how many whites live in Zimbabwe today?

it is probably classified info under that bastard Mugabe's regime.
a situation the UN and almighty Coffee Anan ignores.
The US should step in and help these people .
Screw it if it's not politically correct with the CBC.

But they hate semi-rightest chief executives even if they are big cuddly teddy bears in comparison to the aforementioned---Ian Smith, the Shah, Somoza, Batista, Chang Kai Shek, Franco, etc.

The wise, lovely, and African-American Teresa Kerry is from nearby Mozambique. Someone should ask her for her solution to the mess.

the authority of a regime in power since independence from Britain in 1980.
Rhodesia was independent of Britain since 1964. The communist news media pretends it never existed. If the USA fell to communists in 2005, the news media would no doubt give that date, instead of 1776, for independence from Britain.
