"He was very upset with the electoral system in the States, she said. He said, If George Bush is elected president, I will leave the country, and we did."
Well- at least he had more integrity than the Baldwin brothers:) They threatened to leave...but alas..they're still here.
Pierre got dotty in old age I think...
His journalistic reputation was besmirched in the 1990s after his insistence that two major airline crashes were not what they seemed.
He said the 1988 crash of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, was a Drug Enforcement Agency operation that went wrong a theory for which no evidence materialized. He fell for a hoax document found on the Internet that claimed TWA Flight 800 was shot down near Long Island, N.Y., by a stray Navy missile in 1996; investigators concluded it was blown up by a spark in its fuel tank.
Oh well....
Actually I think it was Ted Sorenson or something like that who some say wrote Profiles in Courage.
So sorry to hear that. May God bless.
"He said, If George Bush is elected president, I will leave the country, and we did."
Salinger had more integrity than Alec Baldwin.
"Actually I think it was Ted Sorenson or something like that who some say wrote Profiles in Courage."
Yup. That's who wrote it.
Yes, but he is probably still voting for Kerry in this election. That's what dead Democrats do, you know.
like minds!
Actually, Theodore White wrote "Profiles in Courage". Either way, its so typical of the Kennedy myth, from JFK's war record to the authorship of his book.
Time moves on.
Yikes! :)
That may be right. Or arthur Salinger?
Whatever. It certainly wasn't the original JFK who wrote his book.
RIP Pierre. I NEVER cared for the man, and when he went off the deep end with those conspiracy theories I was just embarrassed for him.
I'm sorry. My condolences.
Your politics will not necessarily come out in your reporting. I would hope mine don't.
But, his did from what I understand.
How could you say such a thing! (Before I said it, I mean!!!)
I was really young when he was Kennedy's press secretary so don't remember anything about him then, but the SOB sure went nutty in his later years.
There's one less liberal idiot in the world now.
May take awhile to think of something nice to say, dont rush me.
