WAKEFIELD, Ohio - John Kerry put on brown corduroy pants and a mustard yellow jacket to spend a chilly autumn day in Ohio, just an average guy looking for votes from average Ohioans.

The Democratic presidential candidate started and ended the day by appealing directly for support in one of the election's most important battlegrounds. Between campaign stops, Kerry sold himself as a hunter, a churchgoer and a neighbor.

....SNIP...Kerry searched an ice cream cooler for a Haagen Dazs bar. Finding none, he paid $140 for his hunting license and headed to a rally in Wakefield.

Oh, you have got to read this story.

And here's my question; WHAT'S JOHN KERRY GOING TO DO WITH A HUNTING LICENSE?

This could get funny real quick

Oh, and look Kerry got, another, new gun....

My dogs were lying down next to me sleeping peacefully...I've laughed so much over this they're now wide awake and looking at me askance :)

But really, when you can't get an ice cream- isn't a hunting license the VERY next thing you think of buying?

Is it just me or when John Kerry gets his hands on a firearm, does it remind you of the pictures of Saddam Hussein firing his off the balcony at one of the presidential palaces. I know this is probably not a new thought, but looks very uncomfortable with them and unless he has checked the firearm personally to make sure it is unloaded he seems to handle the weapons in a very caviler manner. This is coming from someone who knows nothing about guns.

What a transparent pinhead. "Hey folks, never mind my voting record and positions. I'm gonna spend $140 of my wife's money on a hunting license, and buy a gun...look...see my new gun? Since I spent that whopping amount of money on a gun and license, do you REALLY think I'm gonna have my administration take away my own gun? They'll have to finesse this hunting accoutrement right out of my frigid, expired appendages before that transpires."

Calling PETA, calling PETA!

Nevermind. Kerry probably couldn't hit the broadside of a barn, let alone bring down a live moving target.

Most of those reporters would hightail it out of there.

Kerry should try one more time to win the military vote. This would be a great time to go for a ride in an M-1A1 Tank. :)

Clean his own kill?

The man has never mowed a lawn, washed a car, or the dishes, cooked his own meals, took out the trash, did his own income taxes, booked a flight on a commercial airline, did his own grocery shopping, and on and on and on.

Clean his own kill?

I don't think so.

Some Catholic Democratic officials arranged a private mass for the Massachusetts senator in Chillicothe, Ohio. Kerry called it a way to "stop the hurly-burly, get away from the wildness" and "have this moment of tranquility."

Father Lawrence Hummer, nevertheless, gave the moment an election-year flavor by criticizing church officials who condemn Catholic politicians who speak out for abortion rights, calling on them to use patient persistence and bring them into the fold.

"It is the task of the church to convince and to encourage through all patience, by word and example, those who do not agree[with ABORTION], not to ostracize them or treat them like lepers," Hummer said.

"There are many people who think that the destruction of Iraqi life is as direct an assault on the sacred as is the taking of unborn life. There are many people who regard the death penalty as an admission of the smallness of our nature rather than evidence of our greatness."

"God bless you. Win, will you?" Hummer told Kerry after mass ended.

WTF?!?!!!

What's he going to do with a hunting license?????

The only serious hunting this guy does is for wives with money.

He gets a Forbes 400 list and begins to track 'em.

Once he spots one he gets into this tux and cumberbund and slithers up to them and say "Pardonez moi.....do you know who I am?"

"Je suis tres intereste en votre bucks...."

WHAT A DUFUS!! Someone call the Sports Veterans for Truth!!

The big hunting season that just opened is BOW SEASON for Deer. He's out of the loop!

I guess he's gonna blast them squirrels or grouse.

I wonder if he met these details!

What is the hunter education requirement in Ohio?

All first-time license buyers must successfully complete an education course. The ODNR-Division of Wildlife offers both traditional instructor-led hunter & trapper education courses along with a home-study option. The home-study hunter education course requires a 4-hour hands-on training session. Those needing to enroll in a hunter education class can call 1-800-WILDLIFE (1-800-945-3543) or (614) 265-6300. Course listings are also available online at http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/wildlife/Hunting/huntered/hunted.html

How can I satisfy the hunter education requirement?

(1) show proof of successfully completing a hunter education course (2) present a previous hunting license from any state (3) sign an affidavit stating that purchaser is 21 or older and has previously held a hunting license.

John 'I love dove' Kerry owns two firearms; a side-by-side shotgun, and a Russian military rifle he's never fired. Maybe this pump action will help him nail that Cape Cod sixteen pointer, Ox?

What's scaring me is where this is all going to end up, if Kerry keeps slipping in the polls. Mary Beth Cahill will probably stage a photo op, a bare chested Botox Boy wrapped in 7.62 link and waving an M-60.

So Dufus bought a hunting license? What does he plan on hunting? A quick search of the internet reveals (for Ohio):

Gun season: Antlered or antlerless deer statewide. Zones A, B, and C: Antlered or antlerless deer may be taken during the entire gun season, November 29 through December 5, 2004.

Grouse, squirrel, waterfowl, and dove appear to be the only thing in season.

Some one should ask him what he's hunting. If he's familiar with these dates, fine. But if he says he's going deer hunting, not so fine.
