This is what is known in the trade as a push poll. Read questions 67-78. This is carvillian garbage.

Yeah...what the heck has happened with that show....

Pre internet, pre-Fox, it used to be the only show that you actually could see a conservative commentator on. Fred Barnes and John usually held down the fort, and Mort would side with them about 60% of the time. Eleanor was a marginalized screecher.

I watched McLaughlin last week for the first time in years, and its a liberal screamfest. The Chris Matthew's panels are far more balanced on MSNBC, which is really saying something.

This is a James Carville poll. It is too biased to even take seriously.

Robert Novak and McLaughlin had some sort of falling out a few years ago. That's why Novak stopped appearing on McLaughlin's show. Apparently it was McLaughlin's enormous ego. McLaughlin was once a solid conservative but in his old age he's grown very strange. He's been bashing President Bush all year, over the Iraq War and other issues.

Bush will win.

LOL, according to who, James Carville? Kerrys hig water mark appears to be 46-47. Thats it, he never gets over that. Look at his average number over the campaign season. Bush consistently tops 50. Unless something radical happens Bush is gonna win.

You're right. I enjoyed the show back ca. 1994. Even Fat Jack was entertaining.

So Carville could only bump his boy by 3? Man, we're doing better than I dared hope. If things were even, Carville would have Kerry up by 10.

If you look at the PDF, there's a question in there if you had to vote today for John Kerry or George Bush which would you vote for?

Results

Kerry 54%

Bush 17%

This poll is definitely wacked.

Yeah, I forgot about Jack Germond. That was really the classic lineup, John, Fred, Mort, Jack and Eleanor.

Then you had Novak, Buchanan, Page fill in.

Was Mark Shields ever on there, or was he always "the capital gang"? I forgot.

John is last last remaining McCain fanatic who is allowed to lead a show. He is a libertian who sounds like a republican...does the name O'Reilly ring a bell? Wind bags who work for food on the street corner of sleeze.

That question was for Nader voters. So it means if they had to vote for either Kerry or Bush, 54 of them would vote for Kerry.

Thought RCP stopped following Democracy Corps because it's a perpetual outlier.

The McLaughlin Group is taped at about 2pm on Fridays, which might help explain why John seems to have lost his marbles today.

Shields was on Evans and Novak, and also on PBS I think with Jim Lehrer back in the day. I don't recall ever seeing him on the McLaughlin Group.

O'Donnell is just vile and Eleanor is still a screechy skank.

What the he** is wrong with McLaughlin anyway? He has lost his mind.

I've noticed that, in fact I don't watch him anymore, he's in the tank for the most liberal candidate in my lifetime.

I think he's a Buchanan type conservative, fortress America.

I guess he didn't notice 9/11 2001????
