Why I’ll Vote for Kerry (Dr. James ZOGBY)
The Arab News ^ | 10/19/2004 | Dr. James Zogby

Posted on 10/19/2004 4:24:01 PM PDT by mabelkitty

WASHINGTON, 20 October 2004 — Because I have been repeatedly asked the question, “For whom will you vote and why?” Let me use this opportunity to respond.

This November, I will vote for John Kerry for president of the United States. I will do so, confident that it is the right thing to do for my country and my community.

Now this doesn’t mean that I agree with all of John Kerry’s positions. I’m a Democrat, but I’ve always challenged my party and its leadership when it was important to do so.

Over the past two decades I’ve helped to lead the fight within the Democratic Party for Palestinian rights, against “secret evidence” and ethnic profiling, and against acquiescence to this disastrous war in Iraq. And during this campaign I have raised strong objections to a number of statements about the Middle East made by Kerry and his vice presidential running mate.

snip

While President Bush has been praised for projecting a vision of a Palestinian state, every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible. During the past four years the administration has failed to support even its own initiatives, from the ill-fated “Mitchell, Tenet, Zinni” plans to the now dead “road map.” The results have been devastating to the Palestinians, the Israelis, and to the search for peace.

Didn't Rush Limbaugh used to swear by this guy? I remember Rush saying Zogby was the only poll he trusted.

"...every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible."

One more compelling reason to re-elect the Prez.

A Palestinian state is probably the most ill conceived idea in the last 56 years or more. Maybe the Irish invented terrorism (some British may say American colonials did) but the so called Palestinians have made it a way of life. Giving those throwbacks a state is simply a suicidal notion for Western Civilization.

"every step taken by his administration has made a realization of that vision impossible"

Does that mean , because the President is unwilling to promote terrorist bombings and the murder of innocent civilians, he is holding the palis back?

This pretty much discredits him in my opinion. I think pollsters need to keep their political opinions private. Now, whenever one sees a Zogby poll, they will always have this in the back of their minds.

Zogs baby, I think the palis have plenty of rights already. Or did you not know they broadcast to children on TV and indoctrinate children in school with tips on how to aid terrorists and become one?

James Zogby (l) and John Zogby (r) were the guests at Thursday's Monitor breakfast. John runs the polling firm Zogby International. James is president of the Arab American Institute. They discussed their new, 10-country poll, tracking how adults in Arab and Muslim/non-Arab countries feel about American people and culture.

LOL!! The rabbit is out of the hat. The Zogby brothers fly together and that is why the Zogby special sauce has Bush and Kerry tied. The pollster Zogby has no credibility anymore, so disregard his poll forever.

Not only a Palestinian issue, but he wants the US to become a soft socialist state, that has no morals and bends to the will of the UN.

There, I said it. Does anyone REALLY disagree with those sentiments? Truly, I read the entire article, thinking back about how his POLL was sooooo trusted, and now I am having an epiphany -- I am infused with moral clarity -- this dude don't like much havin' his ideology lumped in with the EVIL out there in the world ....

He said Zogby was accurate back in 2000 and 2002. He doesn't think all that much of him, now.

Rush has brought up his and his brothers strong ties to Arabs and their causes and that both are big time democRats.

They are no friends of Israel.

The Iraq war is not anything about Iraq and everything about Islamism and the scourge it has unleashed on the world. It will not go away on its own. We now have Islamism on the run and we can break its back if we keep the pressure up.

Those who are thinking about voting for Kerry should look around in their families and in their neighborhoods at all the young men in their teens, those who are pre-pubescent, and even those who are still toddlers. A vote for Kerry is a vote to cut and run and grant the Islamists a victory and a respite. It is also a vote to bequeath the Islamic Problem on all the young families and especially on all of today’s young men and toddlers. It will be their war to fight.

We cannot and should not shirk our responsibility. God blesses those brave men who are waging this war. God damns those of us here at home who choose to lose it.

Based on his statements in the part of the article excerpted (didn't click the link to read the rest) he'd not have voted for Bush anyway, as he is pro-pali-arab and anti-Israel. I'd file this under "so what."

Mr. Zogby, tell the Iraquis who are no longer under a repressive, murderous dictator how wrong this war is.

I cringe whenever I read about the alledged (phantom?) sur-
plus being squandered under Bush. If there was a large
suplus then it was proof that we were being over-taxed un-
der Clinton. Perhaps if that so-called surplus was in the
hands of the taxpayers who provided it instead of the gov-
ernment then we might not have had the economic downturn
which marked the final year of Slick's administration.
