Most folks waving that banner in these parts use it as a symbol of rebellion, and most of them are not even rooted in the south. Rebellion against most anything is popular with many these days...I am going to rebel against rebellion just for kicks...
I've always wanted to see the Confederate Flag and the Rainbow flag flown side by side. Maybe Jim David (if anyone else knows who he is) can help me there...
Another rabble rouser on the loose, trying to divide conservatives one way or the other. Are you related to
bushpilot?
As far as I know, souls have no color and God is no respecter of men. I know it's more fun to fight, but
for the sake of peace, let us love one another.
Two observations:
1) In England the Union Jack (the British flag) has been so much used by fascist parties that most British people don't like flying it anymore.
2) I used to have a confederate flag on my office wall and then through my relatives an African-American person became close to the family - I was asked to remove it and did so as it would have been misunderstood. I am not a southerner and reason for having it was to demonstrate that when all is said and done (war on terror etc.) the federal government, ever more totalitarian, still remains the most oppressive force we'll need to deal with.
I fly a 5'x8' Confederate battle flag, and a 3x5 Palmetto and Gadsen flag. Anybody that doesn't like it can kiss my a@@
for your info the southern army fought for more reasons then slavery. and the north didn't like that and attact the south, and also there are black people that wave the confederate flag and if you don't believe me go to dixieoutffiters.com an click on heritage.
