I have not seen him in years; I do remember he married a famous model. If he is still good looking now, it means he probably didn't abuse or use drugs and alcohol and took care of himself.
I'm glad to hear it!!!
So was I, but I wasn't going to say it unless someone else said it first. :-)
Second "A Flock Of Seagulls" reference of the day (see post #21).
"The soundtrack to Valley Girl is just awesome! (snicker snicker - I said awesome)."
OMG! That song, I think it's called "Eyes of a Stranger" - who sings that??? My husband makes fun of me BIG TIME because I love that movie.. like, totally. The music was so great, especially the band at the dance.
Rock and Roll PING! email Weegee to get on/off this list (or grab it yourself to PING the rest)
PING
Generation Reagan Bump!
I don't doubt they love America, but they certainly are not pro-Bush or pro-our response to terror
"Point of No Return," perhaps their most political song to date, deals with America's response to terrorism. Le Bon said the message is that rather than bombing people, "you've got to try and make the world a fairer place."
They've never been terribly political though so rather then chalk them up to radical lefties, which for some reason I rather doubt, I would think naive like many Americans in the squishy middle is probably more accurate, but that is just a guess based on their history and hearing them talk(they were never very serious about anything in their music).
Shhhbooom Shhhbooom? Rat-at-at-at-at-at-tat...
Life could be a dream
with 72 virg-ins

AMEN TO THAT...that's why the 80s RULZ!!!!!!
Safety Dance: An addictive video, however. Meaningless yet fun.
OH, and Simon is married to a woman of middle eastern decent and I believe they live in France so...well, just something to consider. Rio was written a LONG time ago, before he met his middle eastern wife and before he resided full time in France. Point of no return is much more current and probably more reflective of, at least Simon's attitude, toward our country today. Could give a flip less personally, but I don't think we should falsely give them the status currently of pro-US.
bttt!
...the peaceniks need to be telling the Islamonazis that they are wrong to try to change the world with radicalism and bombs. Bombing terrorists to make the world a safer place is not a shameful decision. It may be a difficult decision but can be a valid response.
All that is needed for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing.
I have the DVD and the CD soundtrack to "Valley Girl." "Eyes of a Stranger" is done by a Canadian band named the Payola$ (dollar sign at the end).
OK heading down to the basement now to dig out all my 80's stuff.... INXS, DD, Thompson Twins, Police (Zenyatta Mondatta, Synchronicity..) and whatever else will satisfy the cravings!
I just can't take it anymore. A wave of nostalgia has come over me, thanks to the good people on this thread :-)
And then there is Billy Doran of Astros/Reds fame.
SWEET!!!! I've been waiting for this for a while. Their new CD has been taking forever!!!!
