Anti-Kerry Film Showing Canceled

alt
October 19, 2004The Big Story on Action News is a politically motivated film furor Tuesday night in Jenkintown. Supporters of George Bush and John Kerry went nose to nose Tuesday night in Montgomery County, and neither side had any intention of backing down. Nerves are fraying at the edges, and there are still two weeks before Election Day.

video VIDEO: Dann Cuellar reports

The emotion of this politically charged presidential election got the best of some people. People who came out to see the anti-Kerry film, "Stolen Honor" were already upset that management of the Baederwood Theater cancelled the showing after threats of civil disturbances. Ultimately the anger reached a higher level when Bush supporters clashed with Kerry supporters.

Dan Sweeney/SOMERTON:

"Did you see what he said in the senate? Did you see that?"

Bill Perry/LEVITOWN, PENNSYLVANIA:

"If you'd shut your mouth we wouldn't be arguing (slur)."
Sweeney: "What (slur)?"

Perry: "Give yourself a try. Come on. Hey. Hey. Hey coolaid."

Abington police had to move in several times to keep ardent Kerry and Bush supporters from coming to blows. This after the documentary "Stolen Honor" which was to debut to a sellout crowd of 600 people was cancelled."

Joanne Dalbey/WARRINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA:

"It denied me the right as an American citizen to see a movie that every American should have the right to see."

Ryan Sweeney/SOMERTON:

"I think it's terrible, I think it's ridiculous that they're gonna shut this down and at the same time they're gonna show Michael Moore the day before the election."
The producer of the film blames Kerry operatives for shutting down the showing of the film.

Carlton Sherwood/FILM PRODUCER:

"The underhanded coercion and intimidation tactics of John Kerry, here's my reaction, what is John Kerry so afraid of with this documentary?"
Kerry supporters were pleased the showing of the film had been cancelled.

Bob Fields/READING, PENNSYLVANIA:

"We don't believe it's an honest movie. Doesn't honestly state the positions of what he did."
"Have You Seen The Movie?"

"No, I don't I have not."

Once again, police had their hands full...
"Go back to Hollywood and Michael Moore, go ahead."

"I live In Levittown fool. I'll stay here as long as I want to."

"You think so?"

"I know so."

"You gotta get a lot more weight to keep up with me son."

"You think so?"

"Yeah, I'll knock you right on your butt pal."

Incidentally the Kerry campaign claims they hadn't anything to do with the movie not being shown here. Refunds were given to those who had bought tickets and the producers gave out DVD copies of the film for them to watch at home.

Some pushing and shoving at theatre that canceled a showing of Stolen Honor.

In the picture - the guy on the left is a good guy - and the guy on the right is a bad guy and just shoved the guy on the left.

At the last minute, Sinclair Broadcasting has reshuffled the broadcast schedule for their program on "Stolen Honor" and now call it "A POW Story: Politics, Pressure and the Media". The new schedule and content of the program is described in the Sinclair press release shown in the post below:

I was there to see this exchange. The kerry supporter was getting in the face of many vets who where there to see the film.

The cops broke up a few of these imbroglios, but the fact remains: we were denied the right to view this film at a public forum.

I hope this fracas backfires on the kerry supporters. We will not be intimidated by these brownshirt tactics!

This is typical of liberals, they have been publishing books that slander this president since the day he was sworn in. Michael Moore produces a movie that Hollywood had the nerve to call a "Documentary". The books are full of personal attacks based in nothing that can come close to anything other than pure fiction. Moore's "Flick of Falsehoods" has been debunked and discredited by not one, but two, documentaries that exposes Michael Moore as the low rent propagandist he is.

Here we have a Documentary that actually interviews Vietnam Vets and POW's that have already had their personal lives scrutinized by the smarmy liberals on the left that have come forward to speak about how they believe John Kerry betrayed them, and the Liberals resort to violence.

Be prepared my fellow Freepers, these Liberals are not going to join their friends in the ash heap of history without a fight

I can't say I'm surprised. Philadelphia is a very corrupt place, so I would expect the cops would do just what they did and let these thugs shut down a theatre showing a film they didn't happen to like.

And why wouldn't the theatre pop for private security instead of canceling the show if there were threats?

My sister who works at a Borders Books in another town called me the other day to tell me customers were asking about ''Unfit for Command'' trying to find it, while they had three boxes full in the back her manager told her to tell the customers they were out or them. When she asked why she was told never mind why! They want to shut us down but Michael Moores propaganda can run all day! Our country is in serious trouble, as about half the nation belongs to the Demoncrap's Coalition of the Disordered.

This is actually great news, pathetic as the situation was. Because the left has way over-stepped their bounds by endorsing censorship: extremely hypocritical given Moore's emotion-driven fantasy, and the blank check it got from the lamestream media.

It is obvious now that the left is desperate and would silence the messenger but will never cover up the fact they've latched on to damaged goods: Kerry fought directly against the USA, at least 51% of us will understand this, whether this movie is shown or not.

Watch, Kerry will somehow manage to say nothing on this issue, as if he endorses this censorship he only digs himself a deeper pit.

Landslide for Bush.

I lament the canceling of the showing at least as much as you do, however, none of your rights were violated. Your statement plays into the hands of the liberals/socialists who routinely claim things as "rights" that are not. This confuses the concept of rights in the minds of many.

When the cops stand with the one side in such a matter, rather than neutrally handle the situation -- YES, rights were violated. The bad cops STOLE out money -- the pay and perks given -- to take a side and to harass us. We have a right of contract to expect our paid agents -- the cops being such -- to do their duty as we assign it, or as is the normal practise in that profession. In this case not only did those agents not do their duty -- that's theft of services -- but also harassed us. And that harassment is a violation of civil rights -- to impair one person willfully by clear threat or direct action from the liberty of peacable and lawful action.

here are my thoughts on the subject.

In case it hasn't yet occured to anybody, what happened here in my observation pretty much show the importance of making sure Bush wins this election.

The Democrat party is contiuing to show themselves by actions like this to be a major criminal enterprise mafia with blatant and deliberate malicious and harmful intentions towards Republicans, christians and conservatives.

We had a near situation like this happen last night after the town hall meeting at Rose State College involving the candidates for the Senate seat here in Oklahoma being vacated by Don Nickles. If Brad Carson wins this seat, we in Oklahoma may as well look at this seat as non-existant as far as I'm concerned

I would remind everybody that a vote for John Kerry is vote to have this and other conservatives website shut down as threats to National Security. It would also be a vote to subject christians and conservatives to at the very least a tax audit and even worse. Christians and conservatives are the backbone of a lot of communities in America. What's going to happen to these communities if John Kerry wins this election?

Please don't let this happen folks. There's way to much at stake not to vote in this election. These are major criminal elements we are dealing with. Don't let them steal this vote away from us.
Regards.
