UN: Insists Syria Withdraw Troops from Lebanon (France Going to Screw Bush Again!)

BEIRUT: The UN Security Council's 15-member states issued a presidential statement Tuesday once again demanding that Syria withdraw its troops from Lebanon, and requested a report by the UN Secretary General every six months on the two countries' compliance.

....

Syria, EU finally ink trade, political agreement

Syria formally initialled an association agreement with the EU that commits both sides to work toward free trade and increase efforts to stamp out terrorism and weapons of mass destruction.

Syria was the only Mediterranean country in the EU's "Barcelona process," launched in 1995 aiming to bolster trade and political ties in the region, not to have concluded an association agreement.

The issue of the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction had until now hampered a closure to the accord.

Syria remains the object of international suspicion, most notably in Washington, for its military and political involvement in Lebanon and alleged support for terrorism.

EU External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten said relations with Syria were improving but added: "We're still in a position where we don't see eye to eye on everything."

"alleged support for terrorism"?

Didn't Hamas have a storefront in downtown Damascus? I seem to remember the Israelis taking it out.

Syria has some of Saddam's 'special' weaponry, so Duelfer once led us to believe ... so what is really going on with this 'U.N.' push to get Syria out of Lebanon after all this time ... Of course, I am all for getting the Syrians out of the Lebanon, but there is something very odd about this.

Nonetheless, as the Maronites say: St. Rafqa, pray for us.

They're doing the best they can to take away one of our excuses for going into Syria.

Best of all, maybe they can make some sort of Oil for Food arrangement if they stonewall long enough. Or failing that, sex for food. The UN is good at that.

Ohhh scary! If you don't listen to us we will send Hans Blix. And when he swims with the sharks we send you another angry letter.

Sorry saw TeamAmerica today and I just can't take anything serious since.

Get ready Syria, Iran, N. Korea. We here in FR are all praying for the re-election of GWB. You can run for a little while longer but you can't hide for very much longer.

That was great, wasn't it?

SEMI-SPOILER ALERT

I still can't get that "AMERICA--F YEAH!" song outta my head.

I almost fell on the floor laughing when they played the slow version of the song...

The best part of this movie was the songs...not one was bad.
