Here in Colorado Springs and in many other parts of Colorado, we have the 96 Hour Program to get out the vote. It worked in 2000 on a limited basis. In 2002 the final four day push helped give Sen Wayne Allard a solid reelection victory and gave Gov Bill Owens a landslide victory. We expect it will help to reelect Bush-Cheney.

This is so important!! I live in Wisconsin and am volunteering all day on November 2nd. It's important for each of us to get involved in this election. We do NOT want sKerry as our next president!!
To: JBlain
It's still not too late to join the greatest party on earth -- the US Presidential election campaign!
Call TODAY and offer to join a walkaround this weekend -- walk around one of your local neighborhoods with a group, talking to residents and giving out literature. And for those states who have local Bush/Cheney Victory Centers, call them (or call your local Republican Committee and they can help you get the number). Volunteers are still needed for phone banks RIGHT NOW. You can do this in addition to the 72 Hour Program.

The kids and I will be working the polls on Nov. 2, handing out GOP "who to vote for" guides (it's complicated in NC!). If I can volunteer, with seven children at home, then everyone can do *something*!

I could not look at myself in the mirror if Kerry won this thing and I just sat home and complained about it.
We must do all we can, even if some can do less than others. Get out the vote, go hand out flyers, go help the local GOP, go get lawn signs placed, make phone calls, whatever you can do.

Already involved myself, but everyone should do something, I agree. Hence, the thread bump.
To: Mr. Silverback
Already on it, Mr. S.
But I call upon all my fellow FReepers to volunteer as well. If you think your state is a lost cause, or already solidly in the Bush column, then travel to a nearby battleground state, or visit family and friends in a battleground state, and help out where we need it.
We can certainly use your help in Southeast Wisconsin!
Lastly, you are in a solidly blue state, and travel to a battleground state is not a possibility, then make Kerry and the lefties WORK for your state. Get out the vote, watch the polls - Do Something! We concede nowhere, we fight everywhere!

I have been volunteering for the campaign for several months and currently am keeping the local Republican HQ open in the evenings so people can come in and pick up signs, bumper stickers, help stuff literature packets, phone banks, etc.
Many people have complained that they have called and left their phone number. I hope you also left an e-mail address. This year, the campaign is trying to use e-mail blasts as ways to communicate. It is much faster, cheaper, and does not use as many volunteers calling people. If you have not already given your e-mail address, I highly recommend that you do it.
Right now, we are doing an "Absentee Ballot Chase" which means we are calling everybody in the county that requested an absentee ballot and reminding them to send them in early. It is amazing how many people realize they have not gotten theirs yet, or that it is stuffed in a pile of other mail. Most people (except the grouches) appreciate us calling them. We need help with everything. Be persistent. Keep calling them.
To: LouD
I am deliberating right now whether I will fight in Stephenson County or travel to Green County in Wisconsin. But I greatly appreciate your suggestion, and I'm leaning on the conservative members of my wife's family to get out and work.

They may be waiting until closer in because it's supposed to take place on Halloween thru the 2nd...Some of the folks volunteering for the program are volunteering to travel away from home to a battleground, so maybe they're waiting until they know what's in the bag before they send folks out. Of course, I'd just send everybody to Ohio and Florida, but I'm not exactly Karl Rove, knowwhutImean?
I'd suggest contacting your county GOP HQ immediately. They have something for you to do, and if the 72 hour folks call you up you can always change plans, depending on what it is they want you to do.
As I mentioned before, even those of us in blue states who can't travel should work to get out the vote, because a high popular vote gap will highlight Kerry's treasonous motives.

The Dems are already hard at work to defraud thousands of us out of our votes (giving crack for registrations, registering the death, etc...) Even more reason why we need to work even harder.
