Can't believe Specter is only at 55%.

I have my doubts about Quinnipiac's validity, although I wouldn't expect Bush to carry Pennsylvania except in a landslide, because of the voter fraud.

Dead men don't talk to pollsters!

I didn't know that. Most college polls do lean left so you are probably right.

This is from Oct. 16-20. The flap about Teresa's mark was on the 20th. I still think there will be fallout from this in the next poll.

Whatever. Why is Kerry returning over and over to PA? This poll is wrong.

LOL - I can top that one. I live and work in NYC. I have not seen one Bush/Cheney sign but tons of "VOTE OR DIE" posters, Kerry/Edwards stickers, Bush lied stickers, etc. Yada yada spew spew. You name it, I've seen it.

voters are intentionally choosing the candidate who promises to do more for them personally (health, job) than the one they know will better defend this country and the world.

Makes sense since they get the free stuff now and it will take a while for our enemies to organize and attack us. But the only way Kerry can win is if the gimme-free-stuff types and the Iraq-was-a-mistake types are mostly different, but I think for the most part these are the same stupid people.

Q'piac is probably the most reliable college poll because they have practice. They often err on the left but not outrageously so. I'd expect the margin to be about 3 points closer, but I'd wait to see more polling.

I agree. Let Horse face and his prozac poster child of a wife have PA. The Prez is going to take Wisconsin, Iowa and New Mexico out of the blue state column and turn them red. Plus he's going to carry Florida and Ohio.

According to the polls last night on FOX News, The Prez is going to win handily. Look for the polls to turn even moreso in his favor after this weekend. People are starting to see the nastiness of Kerry, TA-RAY-ZA, Elizabeth (Ms. Piggy) Edwards and the entire Kerry team; and they don't like it. This is the turn everyone has been expecting to come. We'll win with over 300 EVs.

Let me sum up my feelings by quoting Howard Dean:

YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!

That's strange because Rick Santorum told IMUS this morning that President Bush was up by 2 points in PA.

How's Quinnipiac's record?

They trend heavier toward the Dem side, and they don't publish the ratio of Dems/Pubbies/Independents in the polling sample. My guess is that they bias leftward with their sample.

Yeah, but they don't publish the affiliation ratio of their sample, which makes me suspicious.

Well what do you want you have Philly which is basically a glorified suburb of NYC and then you have Allegheny County where per capita is only behind a county in Florida in terms of its number of retirees.

I don't think Kerry will win by 5 here, but given Philly's dominance in terms of population I would not be suprised if he wins. But if you look at the county by county map by the end of the night, should Kerry win, you'll see that its going to look a lot like the 2000 Red/Blue map.. large geographical regions going Bush, and a few densely populated areas primarily in eastern Philly area going Kerry.

Bush has to score big in the Philly area to take PA. He's got most of the rest of the state locked.

Why is Kerry returning over and over to PA?

Because Kerry can't win the election without PA. It's his firewall state. Even if Kerry really does have a small lead in PA (which I believe he does, on the order of 3 points or so), it is critical that he protect it.

I can't take the polls either. I rely on the freepers I trust and read their posts. Otherwise I would return to smokiing, start drinking and need tranquilizers.

Cables a short time ago all showed President Bush LIVE in Wilkes-Barre, PA and the place was rocking. Also the threads on yesterday's Hershey, PA rally showed over 30,000 people in the rain.

People are going to go out and vote for him. And judging the internals on this poll, I think PA is very much in play.

217% of the eligible voters in Philadephia will be voting for Kerry. It will be tough to catch up in parts of the state that still abide by the election laws.

Bush endorsed Specter for the primaries but I have yet to see Specter endorse Bush. He's a BIG RINO!
