ST. PAUL - Former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura has officially endorsed Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry.
The announcement was made during a 30-minute news conference at the State Office Building. The former Minnesota was there, but did not make any comments.
Just days ago, Ventura had said that he did not plan to support Kerry or President Bush this election year.
Also at the news conference was former Maine Gov. Angus King, who was the only other third-party governor during Ventura's years in office. He said Ventura changed his mind and decided to endorse Kerry.
Organizers didn't even know Ventura was going to show up until the news conference started. He told reporters who followed him out to his car afterward that he'll be doing interviews in Los Angeles.
JESSIE VENTURA SPORTING HIS NEW HOMELESS SHELTER LOOK
this guy is a putz
Jesse has sustained one too many suplexes to the head.
So what. The Rock endorses Bush.
What a big dump putz.
Oh Jesse, your commanding officer in "Predator" was Arnold. You are in deep trouble now soldier!
Jesse is one of the most unpopular residents in Minnesota. Everyone recognizes that his administration was totally a wash and unproductive.
with his closing approval rating at -10, the people of MN will know the value of his ideas.
He's always been anti-establishment...no one listens to him anyway!
I love "The Rock"
Ya think they're worried about Minnesota?
It's hard to tell the difference between him and the other Jesse.
So he... flip-flopped...
Jesse is a near Libertarian. I cannot even fathom what he's thinking!!!!
Truth is, he is hoping for a Hollywood contract, so he is whoring himself . Therefore he IS a whore!!
Does anyone in MN still care about what this laughingstock has to say?
this does nothing in MN
Kerry probably offered him Sec-State like a dozen or so others.
Please. Tell me that's not him. (Does anyone take this guy seriously? He's taken one-too-many knees to the head, imo.)
More of our Minnesota embarrassment revealed.... Fortunately he may have just sealed the state for W!
Pathetic when you have to get the endorsement of an ex-governor with the lowest approval rating in the history of Minnesota! But that's okay Kerry deserves it!
I agree. This is about as valuable as Ross Perot's endorsement of President Bush in 2000.
Looks like he hasn't been takng his steroids.
He has McCain's proxy vote.
"Jesse is one of the most unpopular residents in Minnesota. Everyone recognizes that his administration was totally a wash and unproductive."
I have often wondered how embarassing it must be to anyone in MN with a brain, that Ventura was ever elected governor.
Looks like a Steelworker from Chisholm.
Jesse who?...oh...that nothing! He was a lousy wrestler, a worse actor, and THE worst governor!
This could actually deliver Minnesota for Bush. I'm not joking, either.
I think it is him. I looked carefully before posting the picture and its really him. SCARY ISN"T IT?? He's looks like a homeless person!
What do you expect from the guy who thought Gray Davis was a good governor?
Sad. He was a Navy Seal once. Sorry Jesse. Your terribly wrong on the one.
This coming from a guy who saw the Wellstone "memorial" rally first-hand. Either Ventura has a ridiculously short memory or he's a moron.
This guy is such an effing boner.
Oddly they don't mention that he is currently teaching at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. Being for Kerry is not a choice if you work there.
There. Fixed it.
We have given much thought to the values and characteristics that make a great athlete. Our lives have been spent trying to run farther, push further, and jump higher than the person beside us, or across the field of our chosen sport.
With years of training and exhaustive competition beneath our belts, we have identified the values necessary to compete and win values like personal strength, determination, a sense of fair play and faith.
The same qualities that make a great athlete make a great President the determination to do what is right, regardless of the latest polls, the personal strength to bear the weight of the nation on your shoulders, and the faith that a higher power will direct the actions of good people.
We see in President Bush these same qualities.
In 2001, our nation was attacked without cause or provocation. The President's values saw us through those dark days after the terrorist attack.
The economy was rocked by the dual blows of the terrorists' cowardly action and the reckless disregard of the rules by a few rogue executives. But President Bush's decisive, principled leadership has moved America forward, and today our nation is safer and our economy is strong and getting stronger.
The fight against terrorism takes decisiveness. It takes continued support for our troops and first responders. But most importantly, it takes courage and inspirational leadership in the White House. In these critical times, our President has had the courage to stand up and do what's right.
For that and for his unwavering character, we choose George W. Bush as our President for the next four years. He is a leader we can depend on to make the tough decisions and the right decisions. Please join us in supporting a candidate of courage, President Bush a leader who backs our troops defending our nation and shares our values.
He is probably saying that when he was a Navy Seal, Kerry pulled him out of a river......
He has become one of Kerry's "Band of Blowhards"
"I ain't got time to bleed!"
Jesse Venture in "Predator"
He is desperately trying to be relevant His MSNBC show tanked. It is curious that a guy that bills himself as the everyman-- a team guy-- would side with an aloof gigolo who betrayed his band of brothers in Vietnam.
As far as I'm concerned, Jesse Ventura just imploded. He is a sell out because he stands with the Traitor.
Just damn. I wouldn't know him from one of the tent city residents in Seattle.
Good Lord! What happen to the man?
Arnold and the Rock are 'current and vibrant' ... obviously in STARK contrast to the pictured "individual formerly known as 'the Body'" who is neither ...
He wasn't a SEAL and he never saw any combat. Real SEALS complained that he said he was a SEAL. His brother was a real SEAL who saw combat, Jesse had fun with transexual hookers in the PHillipines.
More like, looks like he has AIDS!
He can count te-RAY-za as one of his fans like clintoon.
OMG he does. He looks emaciated!
