I guess you read my profile, since you know me so well.
No doubt about it. The hour long show was dominated by Kerry partisans. They showed a 6 min clip from a Pro Kerry film and spoke with its producer for about 5 minutes. I doubt they even showed a two minute clip of the movie critical of Kerry and spoke to its producer for less than 30 seconds.
Just call them the self ordained clean up crew....
You are correct.
It was not what was feared. It strongly supported the Kerry lies.
The producer of the movie up the river should be hunted down and shot like a mad dog.
The POWs were shafted again.
I smell something too, a know it all who hasn't watched the program and knows what everyone's opinion on it should be.
Stolen Honor looks like a wonderful documentary, unfortunately 5 minutes of clips surrounded by 55 minutes of a second rate news program is lame.
That's it Howlin - you're cut off. Man, you're ornery when you drink !
Apparently very little of it was, based on comments on the other thread.
Well, George Butler said things that were really stupid and he was very hard to listen to. MONOTONE! One statement close to the end made me laugh. Someone was questioning why did he have a video camera filming his every move when he was supposed to be fighting? I also liked the part where Nixon and Colson was discussing Kerry. They said Kerry was doing this because he wanted to get into politics. After that clip, the newscaster stated that Kerry ran for office shortly after. Of course, all this is paraphrased. It was a boring documentary and I don't think the Dems can complain about it. They are probably proclaiming victory right now.
We must have seen a different show than you did. There was nothing negative about Kerry that wasn't countered and the counter not questioned. I well remember the Vietnam era and the traitor's testimony and this farce did nothing to show the pain Kerry caused.
I agree completely. The DNC got to Sinclair.
STOLEN HONOR: WATCH IT FREE ONLINE
Exactly. Why give them PROOF positive that conservatives are as nasty as they think we are?
Hell, I'm still waiting for the Clintons to be hung in stockades on the Mall in D.C.
No, we're getting hamburger helper without tuna, let alone hamburger. This is pure 'bait & switch'.
they did not say one thing about how he did not get his honourable discharge till Clinton.....20 years later.
i am certain he got a less than honourable before that.
and I met with the sister of a colonel killed in Iraq today.
Many in this country make me fear we aren't worth it....and in the long run will collapse.
I did not think that they would air all of it either, but what they did was a joke. They mislead everyone by implying that they would air part of it when they in fact did not air any of it (maybe 10 seconds of it). It was a total junk IMO.
I see you didn't watch what Sinclair broadcast tonite.
Then maybe they should have shown nothing.
I don't drink, punk.
You didn't watch the Sinclair program. It was crap.
Paid off, me thinks. I smell something real bad.
Shore Patrol !!! LOL
I agree 100 percent with what you said.
We just have to keep fighting.
They kissed the DNC and Kerry's ass .What a shame. The truth can no longer be told. This is the start of our new country under Kerry,It will be Kerry's way or get destroyed!!!!!!!!!!!
C'mon Howlin! They stated outright that Bush hasn't released all his records and NO mention of Kerry's records at all! It was outrageous!
LOL, Butler (director of 'Without a Paddle'...errr 'John Kerry's Long Snore') sounded medicated! You'd have to be a kool-aid sipper to buy his garbage. Overall I thought it was OK but they certainly could have been a little more hard-hitting with the TRUTH!
Join date means when I "registered to post" it has nothing to do with how long I've been reading the board...
Guess even though my observations of this show were absolutely correct they don't count because I choose not to be a prolific poster?
Man you guys are tough...
All the more reason to believe this was a setup.
OK, I made it through about 30 minutes of it, taping it for my dad, who thought it was going to be mostly about "Stolen Honor", the documentary. I stopped the tape about halfway through.
It was poorly edited, with no clear message, it rambled, and the cuts from the documentary weren't even the best cuts.
I think the whole point the POWs were, and are, trying to make was lost in this program. They didn't pin that pro-Kerry Vietnam Vet down with respect to the impact their testimony had on the POWs. It doesn't matter what they thought they were trying to achieve. Whether their intentions were bad or good (giving them the benefit of the doubt for the moment, for the sake of argument), they have NEVER acknowledged the harm they caused the POWs, the psychological and physical harm. They refuse to acknowledge the consequences of their actions were visited upon the POWs in a very hurtful and negative way. They want to dismiss it, ignore it, sweep it under the rug, and even say their anti-war activities actually SHORTENED the POWs misery, which only adds insult to injury.
I was hoping this program would finally give them a voice, but their voice wasn't adequately heard tonight.
This must have been Kerry's "October Surprise"--they must be laughing their butts off over at DU!
The Sinclair VP on FOX today admitted that there are many more Kerry bumperstickers in their parking lot--than there are Bush ones.
I watched 60 minutes of it; was there more?
This was a thoroughly disappointing production...
I agree Howlin. It was better than nothing, better than Dan Rather, Dan Brokaw, Peter Jennings.
Maybe as good as Brit Hume on Fox when he's fired up.
can you buy it anywhere????
No, I registered yesterday I believe. I've been lurking for awhile now, thought I'd finally join in since the election is right around the corner.
I'm bashing Sinclair for folding!!
You call that BALANCE? What rock were you under? They always let Kerry's camp go last & unrefuted. It was pure crap.
The libs must really be scared if they signed up just to try and tell us what to think of the show. Hmmmm.. now I think it was even more damaging to Kerry.. or why would they bother?
Not sure who this new character is, but, frankly it was trash. It did nothing more then to say "Kerry says we need to keep on doing what we are doing!"
As a vet I am horrified and my husband who is on active duty is beyond pissed. It was the worst waist of air time that Bush could have received.
Like I said on another thread. This was their "October suprise". Bet the DUmmies are really laughing at how we were taken in.
It was kinda lame ... about 45 minutes in I became distracted by my desire for Maker's Mark!
YEah, Butler may have got more time but could you actually listen to him? I couldn't stand it. No emotion and completely MONOTONE! I think his voice probably drowned out anything he said.
What a bunch of crap. I'm so ticked I can hardly type. What did they show? 30 seconds?
Let's not forget the talk and debate this issue is going to generate for the next few days. The MSM will create the buzz that will get more internet hits and people will eventually see/hear the true story.
And the word will get out through the network of American veterans of all wars. The vets, who reach into every town, every business, every community, will complete the circuit and get the word to all Americans who are willing to listen. I call that the WCN (Water Cooler Network). It is below the radar of the press, but it reaches into more nooks and crannies of America than all the alphabet networks put together.
That's why I wrote two months ago that "this election was over when John Kerry say down after his acceptance speech in Boston." His marketing plan was to make Vietnam the center of his campaign. And that was a fatal mistake.
It was supposed to be on channel 64 wstr cincinnati and instead they showed a rerun of some 80's sitcom ! jeers or queers or something like that !
