Then you didn't watch the presentation. It has been advertised here in OKC as a hard hitting piece about how POWs were treated and it couldn't have been farther from the truth after the first 10 minutes which were quite good. After that it was pieced together in a hurried fashion and didn't flow.

The local Sinclair affiliate ran this garbage this evening. It was little more than a lengthy advertisement for Sinclair Broadcasting, with a healthy dose of pro-Kerry tossed in.

Two Syracuse stations had a number of pro-Kerry protestors on their 11:00 broadcasts. They called the film Republican propaganda. One conservative woman was interviewed by both stations, and she proclaimed the program to be fact. I think the protestors missed the point that the show turned into a Kerry infomercial.

I didn't see the "report", but I had heard that Sinclair seriously caved to the Leftists. IMO, they should not have announced so far in advance, so the destroyers would not have had a chance to mobilize. Nonetheless, I don't think it will matter much in the end. GW should win handily this year. All the indicators are positive.

Obviously those who expected to see @ least sizable portions of Stolen Honor aired were very disappointed.
I did not expect that because as Sinclair had stated before - how much they were going to show was undetermined.
It would have great if they had run a lot more than they did, but I think some positives came from this.

Minutes 5 to 15 were unique for broadcast TV - in that the truths presented in Stolen Honor were presented as a legitimate subject.

The rest of it was just more of the same stuff broadcast TV puts out. Some of it even handed, some of it sKerry puff.

The only problem I had with it was the bit on Dubya's TANG service - it was grossly uninformed.

To be certain, the producer of Up River told some lies about things he obviously had no clue about, but it's obvious he fried his noggin' on acid years ago.

Overall, I would say this show was a small net gain for Dubya.

I was seriously disappointed. It seems like they showed more clips from "Going Upriver" than Stolen Honor.

Maybe I'm misreading Sinclair's major bending over, and the program was just so nuanced, it seemed like a Kerry-infomercial.

My disgust with Sinclair is seared, seared into my brain.

It started off OK. They had a few clips from Stolen Honor.. then they went to "Going Up River" and interviewed the producer of that film. They spent a lot of time showing video clips out of context.. Michael Moorish way... to suggest that Kerry was dodging bullets as he pulled a guy from the water. They way they did it, one guy narrating while they show clips of swiftboats racing through bullets, makes you think that it MUST be the case that Kerry was being shot at. Then they started into Bush's national guard story with a few moments of a general saying Bush did a good job only to switch over to the anti-Bush crap.

The problem with Sinclair... they think that balance means showing both sides. THe problem with that theory... If one side is rational and honest, and the other side is willing to lie, cheat, distort... that is not a balanced representation.

I didn't watch the show, but from what I have read here, they have only succeeded in alienating liberals AND conservatives. They have made a lot of enemies and no friends on either side.

Stolen honor was the documentary they were talking about, I don't know if and why they changed the title, maybe because the guy didn't want them using the name of his film for the special. I saw the guy on O'Reilly 2 or 3 weeks ago telling him that the liberals were morons, that they weren't just going to show the film, that it was going to be a discussion. I did not see it though, so I will stand down, who knows they may have filmed it more pro kerry that they implied. I did hear somewhere they were showing the documentary by itself the night before the election though, who knows.

Let me get this right President Bush released his records, right? This crockumentary raises W's TANG issues that are really non-issues BUT....
Senator sKerry on national TV with Tim Russert said he would release ALL of his records and to this date has not signed a 180 to release any of them. Why this crockumentary raised questions in the publics mind about W's records and didn't even raise the issue of sKerry's flat out lie to Russert on Meet the dePressed months ago is beyond me.

Sinclair tried to make it "fair" and it came off wimpy. To be fair to them they did mention several times that Kerry refused to appear on the show. The first 10 minutes was ok, after that it deteriorated and was actually a little biased toward Kerry. I think they were saving their ass. Very dissapointing. Everyone needs to see Stolen Honor in its entirety.

Today on the news he was saying that people should not prejudge the film without seeing it. I keep thinking back on history and trying to remember how many times over the years we may have thought the world would collapse if the wrong person got voted into office. Clinton comes to mind. Carter comes to mind (in which case it almost came to fruition!). We have always had political tension and I try to tell myself that if Kerry were elected I would just spend more time laughing at Terayza and working to OUT Kerry! But I think it is far more serious then that if we lose. Judges come to mind.
