Actually F-16's usually carry the AMRAAMs on the outside wingtip rails now, you can see they are longer then AIM-9's, here's a pic of it.

The Aeronca Champ I used to fly had a top cruise of about 75 kts. I would guess that the stall spped of an F-16 is significantly above that. How did they "chase" his guy?

Nice picture! A real "working" F16; notice all the dirt on the wing roots, and the yellow bands on the missiles. That means they are the "real deal" live weapons. Most picutres of F16s you see are of "blue band" dummy rounds, not those two though. Where'd ya get the picture???? Back of a KC135?
