Kerry's Need for Speed
Pravda on the Potomac aka Washington Post ^ | 10/24/04 | Laura Blumenthal

Posted on 10/23/2004 8:52:48 PM PDT by freespirited

"Faster," John Kerry told the driver. "Faster, faster."

The senator was late for a political event in Springfield, Mass., moving along the turnpike at 55 mph.

"I said, 'We're going to be late, John. That's the way it's going to be,' " recalled Jonathan Winer, the aide behind the wheel. "John reached his long leg over and said, 'No. That's the way it's going to be,' and he stepped on my foot and pushed the accelerator to 75. And then he said, 'There.' "

Kerry was in a hurry, as he often is. Whether on the road to Springfield in his early Senate days or in the race for the White House at this late stage of the campaign, Kerry is a man, associates say, who lives for the sprint. The holes in his shoes, friends tease, are testimony, as is the long board with which he snowboards, to maximize the rush. Even his mother used to joke that her son was born in a hurry; she barely made it to the hospital in time.

The Democratic presidential nominee may have been born to run, but it remains to be seen if he can win. As Election Day approaches in this close contest, Kerry's reputation as a good closer will be put to the ultimate test. Just as he did in his tight Senate race in Massachusetts against then-Gov. William Weld in 1996, Kerry gained momentum in the debates. Polls show the candidates very close.

Once again, we see that Democrats think our laws don't apply to them. Clinton, Berger, Kerry, . . . .

The first time somebody stepped on MY foot while I was driving I think they'd be getting a right elbow where it hurts. What a pompous, frightening loser this man is.

Riiiight, sure that's the way it happened. Especially, with a man who probably hasn't driven himself anywhere in a good 20 years. Riiight...

"He'll argue with you, not because he thinks he's right, but because he wants more tension. Politically, he likes to go right to the edge."

In other words, he doesn't have a presidential temperament.

As POTUS, the man would be dangerous. For all of us.

Ms Blumenthal continues to shame herself.
Laura Blumenthal's father,a noted American rabbi, was shot on the streets of Jerusalem's Old City in 1986 by a Palestinian terrorist.
He eventually recovered, but in the wake of the event, Laura felt an overwhelming sense of revenge.
She tracked down her father's Palestinian attacker ,but, instead of hatred, she came to love and understand the Palestinian shooter.
She wrote " Revenge : A Story of Hope. "
From the book jacket - " And in the end, there are no Israelis or Palestinians, no occupiers or terrorists.
There are only people, families, and deeply wounded lives. "
Laura Blumenfeld is the ultimate touchy feely,
love the terrorist as thyself,
Kerry supporter.

And .. another example of being out of control - and also of having NO RESPECT FOR THOSE WHO SERVE HIM. What a jerk!

Does Laura Blumenthal expect her readers to ADMIRE this kind of conduct? Liberals let their ideology blind them to everything that isn't in their skewed line of vision.

Good grief. The thought of John Kerry's foot coming down on yours while you were driving would be enough to send any normal person around the bend.

i would have slammed on the brakes right then and there, hopefully sending his head into the windshield, and told him to get the hell out and walk, arrogant @ss that he is.
There was a story about his arrogance from the "nam" era as well, when the pilots were having engine trouble of some sort, and kerry was in a hurry, and ate their pizza to boot.
