Not sure how the ballets are going in Ohio, but I am going to see Phantom of the Opera with my family on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Check this out. The Green Vote is not for Bush. It will not be counted. The red box would be a Bush vote, but it nowhere near the Bush Arrow.

Ohio ballet is a Michigan euphenism for topless bar.

I am in Cuyahoga County and yes that's the ballot. I reviewed it several days ago 'cause I'm voting for the first time.

Thanks for pointing out the error. My vote would've been thrown away!!! I don't think as a firstimer I would get it right!

Hmmmm... the line points to 12, not 2, but I think it will be fine. If all the absentees were run and no votes for Bush were found, the Commission would know something went wrong and it would get corrected. Absentees are also only counted after the fact, IIRC.

Where did you get this? This is scarey! Most people will not catch this. I can check into it as I live in N.E. Ohio and also know people who may be able to correct this.

You should call the County Elections Board and clarify the ballot and the instructions. Don't assume this post is correct (could be photoshopped) and change things. Electoral-vote.com I believe is run by a Kerryphile.

Are you sure someone didn't just "white out" the number 1 in 14? There is no way this ballot would have been published as depicted. Someone is just having some fun at our expense.

I've looked at several of the sample ballots for Cuyahoga County here and none of them look like this.

The sample ballot is posted at the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections website (PDF file). It doesn't show the punchcard lineup though, so I am thinking this could be a real issue.

Like I said, as a first time voter, I more than likely would have followed the arrow, not the number!

Ohio ballet is a Michigan euphenism for topless bar.

Except if you're in Detroit, in which case it's the Canadian Ballet you go to. (Windsor Canada, just across the river)

The instructions read ..."To vote for President and Vice President, punch the hole beside the number for the set of candidates of your choice."

"Nope. It appears to be the real deal."

I stand corrected. Although the photo I was going off of made it appear that the ballot was one page--that is, the left side with the candidates and the right side with the chads. Since they are separate, it shouldn't be quite as confusing. Although I agree with the person in the article you provided that the arrows shouldn't be there at all if they serve no discernable purpose. I wonder if Kerry's name always lines up with his arrow.

It's for real. The Cleveland Plain Dealer had a column with someone from the Board of Elections. They had received phone calls and posted their number. People can request another ballot and their first one will be cancelled. Could be bad or maybe people will actually read the instructions. At any rate, the regular ballot is completely different. With over 35,000 registrations returned as "undeliverable," I think Ohio will be worse than Florida.

We should really go to a system of ALL write-in votes. That will force voters to educate themselves about the candidates.

I voted already and the ballot was a bit confusing. It had the order as:

Petroucka 10
Badnarik 2
Bush 4
Kerry 6
And disqualified.

Since when has 10 come before 2, 4, or 6?

Wonder if this has something to do with that Cuyahoga BOE chick quitting.
They had been having a lot of calls about this from voters.
