"U.N. ambassadors from several nations are disputing assertions by Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Kerry that he met for hours with all members of the U.N. Security Council just a week before voting in October 2002 to authorize the use of force in Iraq.

An investigation by The Washington Times reveals that while the candidate did talk for an unspecified period to at least a few members of the panel, no such meeting, as described by Mr. Kerry on a number of occasions over the past year, ever occurred. "

The fact that Kerry lied or embellished the contacts with the UN should be a bigger deal than the Ammo dump story. Kerry is responsible for what he says, but the President can't be expected to deal with something like a particular Ammo dump unless it has WMDs.

Guess which story will get more play?

The reporter was just sharing about what he wrote in the article that came out today on John Kerry who claims to have met with fifteen members of the UN Security Council to talk with them about the war on Iraq before it happened. This reporter went to interview, I think he said 14 of the 15 Ambassadors on the Council and everyone of them said they never met Kerry or talked to him on about it on the date he specified. That's the story in a nut shell. You can read the story on another thread here or go to Washinton Times.

A front page story in today's The Washington Times says "Security Council members deny meeting Kerry," that Kerry lied during the debates.

This is quite devastating, unless MSM wants to cover up for Kerry. Why, the MSM even freaked out about a 30 year old DUI during the 2000 elections.

Discussion:

sKerry said a year or so ago that he had spoken with every UN Security Council member. The guest said he call five member/ambassadors and they denied this or said that they have never met sKerry. 2 or 3 small countries' ambassador/staff (Singapore, for example) acknowledged that they had met with sKerry.

Bottom line: He called sKerry a liar.

Another subject that came up late in the interview: 1986 World Series Game Six comment from sKerry that he sat thirty feet from Bosox 1st baseman when he let a ground ball dribble through his legs, allowing the Mets to win and force a Game Seven where the Mets went on to win the World Championship. Apparently sKerry is known to have been at a function in Boston on that evening.

Game Six in 1986 was in New York.

There can be no doubt...

The president needs to identify the root cause of the ammo dump issue, and have someone fired (or even courts-martialed, if US military) immediately.

Kerry says he met with the entire security council.

There aren't even any rumors among the security council members to back Kerry's story.

French ambassador doesn't back Kerry's story.

There was no big meeting, though there may have been a few individual meetings with less important people.

Senator Kerry in Second 2004 Presidential Debate

SENATOR KERRY: Nicki, that's a question that's been raised by a lot of people around the country. Let me address it, but also talk about the weapons the President just talked about, because every part of the President's answer just now promises you more of the same over the next four years.

The President stood right here in this hall four years ago, and he was asked a question by somebody just like you, under what circumstances would you send people to war. And his answer was, with a viable exit strategy and only with enough forces to get the job done. He didn't do that; he broke that promise. We didn't have enough forces. General Shinseki, the Army Chief of Staff, told him he was going to need several hundred thousand. And guess what, they retired General Shinseki for telling him that. This President hasn't listened.

I went to meet with the members of the Security Council in the week before we voted. I went to New York. I talked to all of them to find out how serious they were about really holding Saddam Hussein accountable. I came away convinced that if we worked at it, if we were ready to work at letting Hans Blix do his job and thoroughly go through the inspections, that if push came to shove, they'd be there with us. But the President just arbitrarily brought the hammer down and said, nope, sorry, time for diplomacy is over, we're going. He rushed to war without a plan to win the peace. Ladies and gentlemen, he gave you a speech and told you he'd plan carefully, take every precaution, take our allies with us. He didn't. He broke his word.

Jole Mowbrey asked the Kerry campaign if they stood by the story from a year ago (Kerry met with the entire Security Council). They said 'yes'.

Jole went to every single member of the Sec Council(15 members). Only 3 members had ever met him ever, Cameroon, Singapore...and FRANCE.

The others have never met him, their staff have never met him, and they were emphatic.

Kerry camp stood by the story as late as last night?

This really should be a big story, but because it hurts Kerry you will only hear about it on Freerepublic and maybe a passing comment on Fox news. If this story was talking about Bush it would be front page news till election day.

During the primaries Lurch was talking about his communications with the Axis of Weasels in the weeks leading up to the war. The Weasels didn't call Lurch a liar then.

Question: What if Lurch was actually telling the truth this time? What could he have done for the Weasels that leaves him better off being called a liar? Treason's the only thing left to my mind.

Mowbray, you should keep digging.

The President, Bush/Kerry, whoever, would not deal with something like this. This is an ammo dump in a country that is one big arsenal. Coalition Forces found munitions in schools and Mosques. Obviously they get the stuff out of schools etc. first.

The whole issue may be a scam anyway.

Tons Of Explosives Missing In Iraq

"..International Atomic Energy Agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei will report the materials' disappearance to the U.N. Security Council later Monday, spokeswoman Melissa Fleming told The Associated Press.

"On Oct. 10, the IAEA received a declaration from the Iraqi Ministry of Science and Technology informing us that approximately 350 tons of high explosive material had gone missing," Fleming said. .."

"..The Iraqis told the nuclear agency the materials had been stolen and looted because of a lack of security at governmental installations, Fleming said.

"We do not know what happened to the explosives or when they were looted," she told AP..."

Mowbrey then said this matters because Kerry has insisted that his campaign is based on honesty and integrity...he then whispered the words "integrity, integrity, integrity", and was asked then, "So are you calling Kerry a LIAR?"

Mowbrey switched to the story about the 1986 Red Sox game and outlined how he again lied about that.

Missed the chance to call him another Al Gore.
