And all of this nationalist behavior doesn't just have "semi-official" sanction, it has official if not announced approval; China is as brutal as ever with those who defy it. It's no coincidence that American Secretary of State Powell is even today talking about "reunification" with Taiwan.

We are much the same shape as we were before WWII - Japan took our scrap metal and forged it into weapons that killed millions. We are hiding our heads in the sand about the danger that China poses. Kerry would surrender in a second, Bush would fight back wont have the resources. We are in for a terrible century, IMHO.
