Los Angeles -- Adam Gadahn had a decidedly unconventional upbringing, with parents who farmed goats in Riverside County and shunned the conveniences of the late 20th century.

Yet at 17, he seemed to fit the profile of an average American boy. He loved watching television, listened to music his family disapproved of and drove his parents nuts by keeping his room a mess.

The real story here is that Adam Pearlman is probably Jewish. He rebelled against his hippie parents (sound familiar?) by living with his grandparents and listening to Christian radio. But perhaps that wasn't rebellious enough? So he decided to become an Islamic terrorist.

Adam Pearlman is just a crazy mixed up Jewish boy who wants to rebel since the parents probably sold their meat to Orthodox Jews as well as Muslims since "kosher" meat is considered "halal".

My brother is glatt kosher and when we went out to eat I noticed that the glatt kosher restaurants we went to had Nation of Islam members as well as Orthodox Jews. Of course, this was a while back (15 years ago or so), and none of the glatt kosher restaurants we go to now have any NOIs.

Every anti-war protestor I've heard in the past 2 years has been "proPalestinian war against Israel" (including the use of suicide bombers, "the only weapons they have (sob, cry)...their bodies!")

I am not talking about what the Torah considers a Jew, I am talking about what Al Quaeda considers a Jew. Remember Daniel Pearl had to say that his father was a Jew -- the butchers did not care that Judaism considers matrilineal descent to be determinative, especially given Islam's views on women. If Adam Pearlman's father was born Jewish, he's a Jew, and by extension so is Adam himself.

I am transfixed by this because I recall as a young girl that a Ku Klux Klan member was revealed by the press to have been born Jewish and he committed suicide as a result of the "outing." I can only hope of a similar result in the case at point.
