Bill Gertz: Photos point to removal of weapons [Iraqi Arms Update 10/29/04]
Washington Times ^ | 10/29/04 | Gertz

U.S. intelligence agencies have obtained satellite photographs of truck convoys that were at several weapons sites in Iraq in the weeks before U.S. military operations were launched, defense officials said yesterday. The photographs indicate that Iraq was moving arms and equipment from its known weapons sites, said officials who spoke on the condition of anonymity. According to one official, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, known as NGA, "documented the movement of long convoys of trucks from various areas around Baghdad to the Syrian border."

Gee, would I be cynical if I thought for a moment about the stall that France, et al, put on in the weeks leading up to the opening salvo?

Ok, Bush's buddy Pootie Poot needs to come clean, admit they moved the items and do it NOW.

What's to admit? Everyone knows the put the weapons in, later they took them out. Now they are in the hands of our other enemies. End of story. Well actually, perhaps it's not the end of the story...we could always sick the Israelis on Syria while we attack Iran. Just a thought.

According to a link posted on some thread earlier, apparently the bunkers in front of which the trucks are parked are not the bunkers which had contained the alleged explosives.

Oh, I don't know...it just seems that if you can see into someone's soul and they in so many words say that they support you over your challenger...surely he could just go ahead and put this issue to bed before election day.

So if Russia moved the explosives AND WMDs, does that mean that the "meeting" Saddam 'called' before the war to tell the generals "we don't have WMD" was ficticious?
;)

I suspect we know who took the weapons, where they were 'secreted' off to, and admitting it NOW before the election would clearly tip off our enemies as to the targets of our upcoming 'attention.'

The elections in Iraq will be January. (right?)

By then we will have pacified the hotspots, installed some trusted Iraqi leadership, and set up a contingency of forces that will enable us to help them as needed (just as in afghanistan), while we move on the next member on the known list of tyrants.

Saying we KNOW where the wmds are, is a precursor to war. Or, expanded war.

France is still our enemy in this war along with her allies... perhaps including Russia and China...

The arabterrorists are but the 'sock puppets' and 'shadow warriors' of the worldwide club of hate Americans First Members.

I expect further revelations immediately following the election, as in, the week of, or by next friday... names of nations. That is IF the election results are clear by that point in time.

a deadly game we are in.
sorry to see that russia has not been as forthcoming as they should over this WOT thing. Perhaps the 'beslan' incident, is changing their worldview.

and they will come along with us on the journey to planetary freedom.

That is true. And the Pentagon said exactly that when they released the photo. They stated their reason to release the photo was to show activity was taking place in the complex after the UN left and before the US showed up. What kind of activity, they don't know.

"But to pull that off, Bush has to win."

yup.
and if we announced it now... it could conceivably increase our chances of losing...

You can bet we would hear nothing but: "bush has a secret plan to go to war against _______________ !!!" and it would be the next four day drumbeat of the 'anti war mongers.'

Perhaps this is WHY the story is being pushed in some media circles... the media moguls may be hoping some of our intelligence folks might 'deep throat' leak what they know.

Unfortunately for them, we are approaching the event horizon, when last minute revelations can have an impact... Whatever they are going to present to us at 'the last minute', will be impacting this weekend, ya think?

I personally think we all owe drudge, lgf, freerepublic and other similar sites a great debt of gratitude for defusing several of these last minute 'disclosures' planned by those who want to destroy this nation.

I think we may have preempted some potentially damaging stuff. I always like to think that truth trumps hyperbole.

I am praying for a landslide.

I have no confidence at all in a Bush win. The 'rats are going to go for MASSIVE fraud in a dozen states, and any Republican attempts to stop it will be played in the MSM as "attempted intimidation" etc. A replay of FL 2000, only worse, far worse. Hope I'm wrong.

BRAVO SIERRA! They know darn well what was going on and where everything went. I doubt that our security agencies are going to put out much publicly, because doing so may compromise some of our assets. I seem to remember reading about a huge internal fight back during the Cuban missile crisis about whether or not to come public with recon photos. The spook types just don't like to make anything public.

I suppose the trucks were just being stored there.

Cynical, Chummy...

No way. That's what I think. The deliberate stalling of France, Germany, RUSSIA, China gave ample time to get these weapons, and, in my opinion, the wmds, out of Iraq so Blix could go in and deliberately not find anything.

Remember that fourteen month "rush" to war? They are even more corrupt than we think.

Whats the possibility they were gathering weapons to disperse to Saddams forces a few days before the attack?
