Catholic Citizenship Announces Release of Voter Guides
Boston, MA - Catholic Citizenship announced today that it now has its voter guides available online. In Massachusetts, the "Catholic Citizenship Voter Guide" is a non-partisan, comprehensive voter guide covering legislators and candidates positions on issues of interest to Catholics. Candidates were surveyed on school choice, the death penalty, cloning, embryonic stem cell research, partial-birth abortion, parental consent for minor's abortion, and same-sex marriage.
Catholic Citizenship Executive Director, Larry Cirignano stated, "80,000 Voter Guides have already been distributed by mail to subscribers of the (4) Diocesan newspapers in the state and an additional 80,000 copies have been handed out after masses in churches. As we continue to build a grassroots, public policy education network here in Massachusetts, it is our hope that we can duplicate this kind of effort in all 50 states for upcoming elections."
In addition, full page Ads for the "Voter's Guide for Serious Catholics" covering the "Five Non-Negotiable Issues" were published in the four Diocesan newspapers in Massachusetts. This is also available online at www.catholicvote.org.
*NOTE: AN ERROR WAS MADE IN THE ORIGINAL VOTER GUIDES PUBLISHED IN THE DIOCESAN NEWSPAPERS. UNDER THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CANDIDATES ISSUES, "DOES THE CANDIDATE SUPPORT OR OPPOSE:", QUESTION 4 SHOULD HAVE READ "HUMAN CLONING", RATHER THAN "BAN ON HUMAN CLONING". THIS HAS BEEN CORRECTED ON THE VOTER GUIDES AVAILABLE ONLINE.
Catholic Citizenship is a non-partisan organization which promotes public policy education and Catholic laity involvement in the political process. Catholic Citizenship is headed by former U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican, Raymond Flynn.

Thanks for the resource, although it didn't tell me anything I didn't know. Call me a single issue voter, but same sex marriage is pretty much a litmus test for me.
Print up a couple thousand, get a group together and put them on the cars parked in church lots on Sunday.
I take this to mean that Catholics can't vote for Kerry? :)
