...10 hunters onto more than 2,500 acres of private land bordering the Brokaws' West Boulder Ranch during archery season, court records said.

And safety of the Brokaw ranch is at issue? This should be thrown out of court just for the stupidity alone.

Just like Brokaw, their arguments are internally inconsistent.

totally agree with you...10 bowhunters on 2500 acres... give me a break...here in the people's republic of mass it's pretty tough to find that much open land to hunt...I'm on about 170 acres and there's about 8 or 9 of us bowhunting it with no safety worries...more proof liberals are morons

Brokaw is the typical elitist fascist at the top of the Rat Pack.

Acrchery hunters will not endanger anyone. Hell, good hunters with rifles on a ranch that size will not hurt anyone.

Brokaw is just a new version of the old lefty elitist fascist POS, Uncle Walter Chronkite.

Is this pasture, or woodlands? How long is archery season?

Just let some deer jump through Tommy's windshield, and hear them change their tunes...They ought to do a study on how much more likely the "guests" are to get killed by a deer than an accidental shooting.

CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE

CRONKITE: KARL ROVE BEHIND BIN LADEN TAPE Sat Oct 30 2004 16:31:19 ET

Former CBSNEWS anchorman Walter Cronkite believes Bush adviser Karl Rove is possibly behind the new Bin Laden tape.

Cronkite made the startling comments late Friday during an interview on CNN.

Cronkite said he is "inclined to think that Karl Rove, the political manager at the White House, who is a very clever man, he probably set up bin Laden to this thing."

Interviewer Larry King did not ask Cronkite to elaborate on the provocative election eve accusation.

Tell your hunting friends: if they vote for John Kerry, this is what all American hunting will look like within five years:

Wayne Johnston of Helena, executive officer for the state Board of Outfitters, told The AP the Brokaws allow bird hunting on their property with shotguns.
You will be able to do all the bird hunting you want -- and only bird hunting -- provided you do it with a $5,000 double-barrel shotgun and do it on your own estate. It will be just exactly like England, where only the landed aristocracy and a few lucky farmers can get licenses to own shotguns, and all rifles, handguns, pump, and semi-auto shotguns are as illegal as heroin.

A vote for Kerry is a vote for that future. Bet on it.

''We are not anti-hunting. We have no objection to our neighbors hunting on that property as they have in the past and I'm sure will again in the future,'' Brokaw told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from his office in New York.

And we have nothing against stupid people. We just wish that they kept their mouths shut and left normal people alone.

Why do these leftists keep reminding me of the bratty kid kid characters in the Willie Wonka movie?

The first thing that came to my mind was a high-powered rifle....then I read about the archery thing.

I can understand the dangers of a .300 Mag in the hands of an inexperienced person. But these kind of hunting accidents are not something you hear about all the time. I'll bet more people are hurt by New Year's discharges and 4th of July celebrations than "adjoining property/hunting" accidents.

Also, this article gives the impression that his family-room window is inches away from the property line. I fail to beleive that

West Boulder Ranch caretakers Karen and Doug Campbell testified Friday that increased hunting would put them, the Brokaws and their guests in harm's way.

''I'm terrified someone will get shot,'' Karen Campbell said, adding she was ''not so sure'' outfitters knew their clients' hunting skills well enough to ensure the Brokaws' safety.

''And we have no objection to bow and arrow hunting,'' Brokaw said. ''Our concern has always been about an out-of-state outfitter bringing strangers onto property with which they are not familiar that is very close to our home and buildings and the use of high-powered rifles.''>>>>>>

Hmmmm, so since they're afraid of rifles they want to ban bow and arrow hunting. makes sense.........yeah they aren't against hunting.

I think what he is saying is exactly that: The Ranch that Brokaw bought is possibly shaped like a large "C" and circles around, but not the full 360 degrees around another piece of property.

In any event, all of the above posts are correct- The elite move into the rural areas and start telling the locals what the elite will tolerate and what has to stop.

The reference to the gentry and the expensive guns sport shooting- not using the meat- is exactly where this is all going. No matter how many acres Brokaw buys, there will always be someone next door to him, and he cannot tell me what I can or dannot do on my land without a fight.

Stay on top of similar items in your local areas. Attend the County council or Supervisors meetings, and keep yourself informed of the wonderful rules and regs the elite are trying to pass on the unwashed land owners.

In the summer, he comes up now and then. He likes to fish and I see him in the town of West Yellowstone from time to time. The guy's a total ass in the way he treats locals. Not friendly, at all. I've been on the property the article discussed. West Boulder valley is very pretty - Just wish Brokaw would leave.

This smells like a legal strategy that PETA and other animal rights wackos could use to completely ban hunting. Just buy up one acre adjoining any area where hunting is allowed, claim that anybody on the one acre would be endangered by the hunting, friendly judge smacks his gavel and all hunting in the area is banned.

Stroke of the pen - law of the land. "Cool".

the Brokaws' land, southeast of Livingston, encompasses ''a 340-degree circle'' around some of the land on which Nelson wishes to hunt.

Sounds like the Brokaws are maneuvering to buy the land their property encircles. First, deny the other owner the right to use his land profitably, then make an offer?

Do you suppose that if agenda driven news anchors reported the news evenhandedly that they would be less worried about their safety when they went out west? Should New Yorkers by trying to change Montana? Should Tom just stay in New York where he feels safe among his peer group?

I live not very far from there and I am tired of liberals moving in and changing the political landscape. I live in Jackson Hole and I have started calling it Berkley of the Rockies in my local newspaper articles and letters to the editor. What used to be billed as the "Best of the Old West" is no more. If I was Tom or Ted I'd be worried about arrows also!
