In the campaigns final days, Kerry continues to claim that Bush outsourced the job of going after bin Laden in Tora Bora (search) to Afghan warlords. But the Democrats charge rankles not only retired Gen. Tommy Franks, a strong Bush supporter on the campaign trail, but also Army special forces soldiers who say they searched for bin Laden in Tora Boras treacherous mountains.

I have a family member serving and I'm insulted for him.
Kerry hates the military just like most of the other Rats. Look at all the self-loathing he did when he got back from Vietnam.
Don't get me started...
According to Kerry, they aren't even over there in an honorable fashion, since they aren't under the command of Kofi Onan.
That whole Tora Bora comment has enraged me from the start. I do have a question from earlier. What is DU???
I am new here
Oh yeah, I forgot:
It's okay to die under a U.N. flag but not under a lone American flag.
Gee, as long as France says it's ok, I don't mind sending my son to war.
God, what would these people have said in the run-up to WWII? After Pearl Harbor? They have no convictions, no strength of soul.
I'm new, too, and was wondering the same thing.
Dummies?
Democratic Union?
Kerry's accusation is shameless and repulsive. It was Bill Clinton who vetoed a CIA plan to bomb Osama because the camp where the satellite spotted him included Yemeni diplomats. Nevermind the fact that they were training as terrorists. Clinton, Albright, Berger, and just about everyone who held a position during the Eight Years' Tyranny ought to be tried for treason.
Democrat Undergound.com
I think this is something the Bush campaign hasn't said nearly enough. The soldiers are for Bush by almost a 3-1 margin according to some polls I've seen. What's going to happen to the war effort and morale if ol' anti-war John Kerry, who has been backhandedly bashing our troops for 6 months, get in office?
Of course they should.
But the case is even stronger for Kerry, who met secretly with the VietCong twice in Paris.
Can you even being to imagine the field day the press would be having with Bush right now if he and Kerry's records were switched? It would be cataclysmal.
Thanks
DU is short for DemocraticUnderground.org. Basically it's Free Republic for the Left, and the quality of the website is almost as bankrupt as the ideas expressed.
Okay, got it, DU.com
Thanks!
I think the Bushies are afraid to exploit the soldiers, 9/11 or anything else Iraq-related (including latest OBL video) out of fear the MSM will go on a rampage and make Bush like an opportunist.
I'm not necessarily happy about it, but I can see how careful they must be with their words.
Sorry if this wasn't clear--
My point is that the MSM would be nailing Bush to a wall if he protested the war, threw away medals, accused fellow soldiers of war crimes, met secretly with ANYONE in Paris, etc.
Bush would've been accused, tried and convicted of treason already.
DU is Democratic Underground, a website that showcases ranting, frothing-at-the-mouth liberal extremists who mostly hate Bush and all those who have any use for him. Seems to be populated by folks who drink a steady diet of Kerry Kool-Aid. They regularly send trolls here to infiltrate and sometimes post taunting threads which are immediately Zotted by great bolts of lightening. Visit there at your own risk, makes you want to go "DUh....."
The Clintons loathed the military and they occupied the White House for eight years. Nothing would surprise me in today's USA.
I agree with you--Kerry will get too involved with the military.
He will make them "PAY" for Vietnam. He'll re-create the fantasy all those hippies from the '60's and '70's have, basically getting revenge on all the military officers and Pentagon officials by demeaning them, controlling them, berating them and stripping them of their independence and honor (as well as bravado and confidence in their training and skills, which the lefties think is arrogance and barbarianism).
This Tora Bora story has really resonated with the ignorant. My son just left after bringing my granddaughter over to Trick-or-treat. He is the general manager of a Flight School. He is a very "smart" person but he was echoing the Dem talking points about Bin Ladin, Tora Bora, Bush being stupid, being in cahoots with the Saudis, etc.
I love him dearly, but it frightens me that the Michael Moore's of the world have more respect from my son't generation than the President does. He is 26 so he isn't worried about the draft rumor, but he said "I respect the fact that one person (Moore) using his 1st Amendment rights can change the presidency of the US> I about cried. I told him he needs to go and study the l930's leading into WW11 --- he said "we are smarter now, we wouldn't let that happen".
I can't visit there. I'm stressed enough as it is.
Why fill myself with hate and drink a right-wing version of their Kool Aid? I'd rather be a rational, normal American who loves my country, not some hate-spewing freak.
Going to that site would turn me into one of THEM--just rooting for the other side.
I wonder how many lifes that little classified disclosure caused? Don't you wish that those doofae in Congress had to follow the same rules that we must abide by?
I understand what you're saying...
Pray for your son, because he is being deceived.
Because morality has been removed from schools, this generation has no concept of right and wrong, black and white. Everything is "situational ethics", "whatever makes you feel good", "as long as you're a nice person" and political correctness, "diversity".
Blah.
Yeah, WTF!
If the media bias isn't more evident now more than ever, how much more blatant does it have to get?
I mean, if the parties were reversed, all the nightly news networks would be leading their news broadcasts with clips of General Franks lambasting the republican challenger for his wild and idiotic claims that we 'outsourced' the hunt for OBL. But since it is DNC puppet, they ignor the general and the troops.
Back during the Carter years, while Carter was busy dismantling our military, I was told separately by two close friends (unknown to each other) each of whom worked for the military in high positions, that if Carter were to go too far, the military would take over the executive branch and send the Congress home til after they cleaned things up and the crisis had subsided. I don't know if that's fanciful or not, but has anyone else ever heard this discussed?
John Kerry..Denigrating our troops and undermining morale since 1971!!..Giving aid and comfort to the enemy since 1971!..This man want to be CIC???
One bit of advice if you are new here. We don't use Bushies here. They use it at DU. If you use it, you may be attacked as being a troll.
Omigod, please don't bring up that TRAITOR to me. I live about 30 minutes from Vermont, and can barely breathe the air when I head over there. Such a beautiful state, such a hate-filled political environment.
If the MSM was moderate, objective or even remotely representative of the American population then someone like Leahy would've immediately been investigated, potentially prosecuted and perhaps turned out of office. But, because they don't cover stories like that and generate outrage among Americans, treason goes unnoticed.
I believe someday people like him will get the justice they deserve---everything will be out in the open, either here or in their final resting place.
Oh, ok, thanks. I'm sorry. I meant the term affectionately but I certainly don't want to be marked.
I won't use "it" again.
Its more than a few rankled troops its thousands. Kerry screwed himself by saying this. He has undermined our troops and they know it just like in 1971 that is why the swifties story is so very important.
Actually it is Democraticunderground.com
I don't go there, either. I depend upon trusted FReepers to scout and report back, once or twice visiting was enough. I've learned to spend any heightened blood pressure on things I must read or deal with, and DU doesn't fit that category, I can see and/or hear ranting liberals on nearly any major media outlet.

LOL, yup, you're right.
Jsut watching Chrissie Matthews is enough to send my pulse sky-high?
And by the way, even though this is off-topic, who the h*ll made Ron Reagan a "pundit"? Isn't his field "ballet"??
All I can say is the tide is slowly turning. FOX is getting more popular than ever, and blogs/the internet is helping get the real message out. CBS has been disgraced and I think most Americans are starting to realize the major news networks are just plain biased...
Now if we could just get them off the Kool-Aid long enough to stop watching...
" What's going to happen to the war effort and morale if ol' anti-war John Kerry, who has been backhandedly bashing our troops for 6 months, get in office?"
Kerry may have already thought about that problem when he floated the accusation that Bush was going to revive the draft. If Kerry wins, the reenlistment rate will plummet and a draft may well be necessary to maintain even a minimum force.
Thanks for the help, Fiddlstix.
Are they this nice over at DU?
The media has been as disrespectful of the military as they have of President Bush. They never have stories that rebut the outlandish charges Kerry makes about incompetence. He can rationalize all day long that he is talking about Bush and not the military but everyone knows that it is the commanders that oversee the day to day operations, therefore, it is they and the troops that Kerry disparages.
Actually, Bush is doing exactly the opposite to what they did in Vietnam war, when the politicians tried to micro-manage instead of leaving it to the military. You know that is what Biden, Kerry, et al., would try to do.
Well, if Kerry gets in, it won't become a mutiny, but I'm sure the military will hate him probably more than any Commander in Chief in history, which naturally will just make it more difficult to win the war. However, I do think that Carter Administration will be the model for the Kerry Administration. Talk, talk, talk, do nothing, let the rest of the world community use you as a doormat.
I remember how demoralized everyone was in 1980 after four years of that idiot Carter. Who knows, might only take Kerry four months to demoralize everyone this time around.
You know, I've thought of that argument many times...
They screamed that Nixon micro-managed, and now they're screaming because Bush ISN'T micro-managing!
It just goes to show what hypocrites they are! It's all about power and winning, not the truth and doing the right thing.
Yes, Bush is smarter now.
He won't let it happen, but the Europeans are walking right into the same conditions that started WW2.
You can't appease the terrorists!

At the time, Kerry was all for it. He told an interviewer in late 2001 that the United States could avoid making Afghanistan into another Vietnam, "as long as we make smart decisions, and we don't go in and repeat what the British or the Russians tried to do. And I don't think we will; I think we're on a different footing." In mid-December 2001, right in the middle of the battle of Tora Bora, he supported the administration's strategy: "I think we have been smart. I think the administration leadership has done it well, and we are right on track." Kerry only cautioned against using too much force: "I am not for a prolonged bombing campaign," he said.
from http://www.newsmax.com/archives/ic/2004/10/30/134736.shtml
But it turns out that in December 2001, when the Tora Bora operation was under way, Kerry endorsed Bush's tactics during an interview with CNN's Larry King.
Kerry said the Bush plan to get bin Laden "is having its impact, and it is the best way to protect our troops and sort of minimalize the proximity, if you will."
Lest anyone mistake his endorsement as half-hearted, Kerry added:
"I think we have been doing this pretty effectively, and we should continue to do it that way."
The military will treat him just like Clinton...with snubs he won't even get because he's so clueless about military tradition (although maybe not as clueless as Clinton).
I've read books by military guys who served under Clinton that are truly scary...
Heard Bush use this against Kerry in a rally speech on C-SPAN yesterday.
Too bad it doesn't make MSM.
French for "Spawn of the Devil".
LOL! I only went there twice because of threads posted here referring to DU. It's a cesspool over there.
Democratic Underground. Picture basement 'Rats...
