It is based on a tiny sample that has a plus or minus 8% margin of error for both candidates.Less that two hundred voters sampled in Florida that claimed they already voted. The difference is about 20 people.

Kinda like a Zogby poll.

I don't like this at all. This is essentially an exit poll and those results should not be published until the polls are closed.

Dems vote early. So what?

Assuming that the numbers are correct - I wonder why Pubs would be waiting to vote? Any reason you can think of?

We all know Kerry is not going to win Florida by this margin, so this obviously doesn't represent proof of anything. If Kerry was ahead by a very close margin, it would be easier to believe it was an accurate representation of the race. This just proves you can't judge anything by who had time to stand in line all day, and was actually anxious to do it.

Exactly. If these numbers were reversed, there's no way USAToday would put them in their story. It's just a small fraction of a poll and is otherwise useless information. They just wanted to add good news for Kerry in their news story, that's all.

This isn't based on published numbers it is based on a poll that first asked if they had voted and then who they voted for.

What is that?Is that legal in US(i am french)?
If it is not who gave this "information"?

I don't believe it.

They are just trying to discourage Republicans from voting, as they did in 2000, when they called Florida for Gore, while the polls were still open.

This is the exact same tactic.

As I have said many times, that regardless of what any polls say, whether Bush is ahead or behind by 15 points, the most important thing is to ignore the polls and get out and vote.

Then we'll see what is the final tally.

That would be worrisome in and of itself, but the same poll also shows W ahead in PA by +4 but down in OH. I have a really, really hard time believing that W would be trailing in the more conservative leaning FL with their good economy, but ahead in the democrat-leaning PA?! If true, this would be mystifying, but I guess we'll see on Tuesday if this comes to pass.

Since most of the early voters are dems, most likely to avoid mingling with the riff raff that makes up the Rat party. Who wants to stand in line and listen to their hatred and incessant whining for an hour or more.

Wonder what happened to Karl Rove's October surprise we heard about?
Now it is Nov and I am "disappointed" in him, as much as it was touted.
Or was I asleep?
Our GW ran a "too nioce" campaign.
YOu NEVER heard the word "liar" from our side, but constant screaming kindergarten names from the left. If that isn't a sign to the sheep, I don't know what is. (of how desperate and immmature and hateful the democratic party is).

Alot of Republicans feel that election day is Nov.2 not any day of the week.

This year was the first year I voted early, but only because last time the lines were so long.

Call Voters in Battleground States
Bush/Cheney for President ^

Posted on 10/31/2004 10:51:24 PM PST by Keyes2000mt

The President's campaign has a great idea, particularly for those of you with cell phones. You can call registered voters in swing states, reminding them to come out and vote for President Bush. I'll be calling 15 Floridians today on my lunch break and 15 more voters in Swing States tomorrow.

Sign up as a volunteer and do something to move this campaign forward.

Probably because they're either worried the dems will somehow "mess" with their vote (i.e., throwing them away or "losing" it--this applies to absentee voting), or they don't want the dems to know exactly how much they need to cheat.

Possibly most of those voted early in Florida are retirees and seniors. They give their votes to the dems in the hope that they take care of their social security and medical costs

Wonder what happened to Karl Rove's October surprise we heard about?

If you're referring to that radio interview Rove did with Hannity I think it was, where he mentioned how he had a "couple of surprises" in store for Kerry & Edwards, I believe he didn't mean an "October surprise," but rather, was implying that W would win a couple of states we weren't "supposed" to win. If so, I'm thinking HI might be one of them (and maybe NJ?).

Looking at the USA Today exit poll and the NYT's exit poll it appears that 6 percent of the voters wouldn't say who their preferences were. But what I find even stranger is that the two polls show exactly of the opposite results.

Something doesn't add up here folks. I say disregard both polls and just vote.

Yes, I have seen those numbers, but I believe they are national numbers.

Anyway, a lot Democrats vote early espically senior citizens, so I would expect a heavy early Democrat is common.

What else have they to do?
