Think a pot of coffee (full octane) will help calm my nerves?
Thank you for the sanity!
No kidding; people on here think we're ALL interested in every single thought that blows through their little brains!
Eek--eeek---eeeek!
We all have to eek now and then.
I'm starting to really get the jitters after months of optimism thru good and bad days. President Bush MUST win this election! What happens if he doesn't win and we have a President Kerry?? It freaks me out to think about how close this election supposedly is....I'm getting ready to hook up an IV of 100 proof vodka for the next 36 hours or so. To make matters worse (or better, haven't decided yet) my cable was blown out by the windstorms here in Michigan and I'm trapped here until they fix it later today! OMG WE'RE DOOMED!!!
I feel better now. Thanks. :-)
Yes, pee in your pajamas on THIS thread.
Somebody call the w-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-hmbulance!
There's even a Rush is Depressed thread
Dead, that was funny.
Hey sister, why don't you get off the computer and go walk for the vote?
The Republican party will not regain the White House for decades. The Democratic Party has put forth a Herculean effort to put together a coalition to defeat Bush, in support of a candidate whose platform seems to consist of I ain't him! This coalition is not united behind Kerry so much as they're united against Bush. To get elected, Kerry didn't have to put forth any serious policy proposals except a solemn promise to the American people that he was not (nor would he ever be) George Bush.
The coming weeks will see victory parades as the Democrats and the media (ooops, repeating myself) celebrate the TRIUMPH OF FREEDOM over FASCISM and the HALLIBUSHITLER. People will go to bed believing that they actually saved the Republic from destruction by voting for John Kerry. While that's certainly not the case, what they will have witnessed is the death rattle of conservatism as a force in American politics.
With the election secure, the Democrats and the media (oops, there I go again) will benefit from the maxim that allows victors to write history. "The Revolution," they will say, "was not just about taking our country back from the HALLIBUSHITLER. It was also taking our country back from the RELIGIOUS REICH and the RETHUGLICANS." The election has focused specifically on Bush as Saruman and Karl Rove as Sauron, two eminently evil entities whose will to dominate all life drove them to the brink of destroying Middle Earth. The post-election rhetoric will tend to paint all conservatives as the Uruk-Hai; single-minded servants of evil, spawned from subterranean pits, awaiting the rise of another dark master to lead them.
The "Bush presidencies" will come to be viewed as disastrous interruptions; times where the country temporarily lost its way and voted Republican. History and civics textbooks will talk about "the failures of 41 and 43". Newspapers will run covers showing images of George W. Bush sucking the blood of democracy from the neck of the Statue of Liberty (oh, wait, the Village Voice already did that).
America is becoming more liberal, and has been for some time. As such, the decline of conservatism was bound to follow.
I wasn't panicked until I got in here! You mean Kerry could actually win????? I have not thought about that.

Alternately, people can complain & get threads they dislike exiled to the SBR.
