The Iraqi government demands that residents turn over the Islamic extremists taking refuge in Fallujah, while intermediaries complain that the demands are impossible to meet... I think they're intended to be. These are the guys who will try to take over the government by force because they're the guys who did it before. Allawi doesn't want them to talk their way out of this one.

It's past high time to burn out this bedbugs' nest. Napalming it might even serve additional salutary purpose as an object lesson, a la Sodom and Gomorrah.

but losses will be heavy... Losses were supposed to be heavy for both invasions of Iraq, Baghdad, Sadr City, Najaf, Kut, and Tikrit. We went tomb to tomb in that huge cemetery as well. What the heck are you talking about? Heavy loses as in 10 casualties in the first day of fighting? I bet you are a habitual Robert Fisk reader.

It will be house to house but it will be doorless and windowless entry. Those dudes you are so hot for will be stinking piles of rotten flesh, shortly

Clinton, Albright, Clark--the REAL war criminals
Your tag line is quite annoying. It sounds like something from DU would say about Republicans. The closest to a war criminal has been Kerry (he said it himself!). Eventhough I despise them, I wouldn't call Clinton, Albright, and Clark war criminals.

"They will pay the price with the blood of American sons who came to occupy Iraq. They won't take Fallujah unless they fight street to street, house to house."
sadly for this poor moron...
the Americans will take fallujah, and there may not be houses or streets left, when we are finished.
we don't have to fight 'house to house' or 'street to street' if we choose to go 'all out'. bunker busters and blu bombs would make short work of them. if we DO choose house to house, it is because of our good nature and morality. WE don't like to kill innocents.
But we might have to. And if it comes to it, we will.
this guy seems to have a mouth like a crocodile, and a carcass like my boots. the usmc will tan, his hide.
it won't be pretty for the 'insurgents'. nope. not if we really 'pop the weasel'.

Yep...looks like the Marines have been massing artillery. This is going to be so one-sided that the Libs will be screaming like a bunch of Banshees as soon as the election is over.

I hope the terms of engagement don't state that we can only use weapons equal to what the enemy has.
I say go in there with bulldozers and do some urban renewal like Israel does but on a bigger scale.

I share your pessimism about the ING but the military offensive should be overwhelming for the terrorists.
