The "Arab Warrior" is a myth that won't die...

We have them in America. One of the most vocal is John Kerry.

we have been telegraphing this assault for weeks, why would Zarqawi remain there to face certain death? these AQ leaders like martyrdom, so long as its the zombie low level guys blowing themselves up - the leaders tend to like life.

don't get me wrong, we should surely take out whomever remains there - but I am worried we don't get the top tier of the leadership.

!

i'd laugh harder, but some teen on a cell rear-ended my pickup, smashing my head into the door post. a cat scan revealed a concussion. also, there's a bumper to replace.

fortunately for me she admitted responsibility and her mom's insurance is paying the bills.

"Suhail al Abdali, a Fallujah fighter in his 30s who wouldn't identify the group he'd joined, said there "absolutely" were foreign Islamic extremists joining the fight. However, he emphasized, most Fallujah militants are Iraqis"

I feel the need to yell Bullshit you lying soon to be a deadman.

Enough jawin' and get ON with it already!

It will happen when we're sure every last "Go to Allah" candidate has made his way to the battleground.

Kill them there, they can't come here.

The flypaper is almost full, but there are some biggies that have to show up yet. And, this is an on-site demo for Syria's benefit.

What a battle plan...suicide!

Outstanding report. 1000 Green Berets is a very curious deployment indeed. It would appear that the foreign fighters do not intend to leave and will probably be the toughest of the forces the Marines face - they have nowhere to go and have fought to the death in the past. The local forces, however, may well surrender, thinking that it worked before and that they may face a new Iraqi government relatively intact. I'm sure Allawi feels the same way. Will the foreign fighters let them? That ought to be interesting.

If this does go off, and it's looking like it will, then expect devastation for the city. We have armor, artillery, and air, and an established combat doctrine of conserving troops by "reconaissance by artillery" as the old phrase went. We will kill civilians, because the enemy will certainly be using them for human shields - they have done that frequently in the past.

There will be quite a few debts paid off as well, between the new Iraqi troops and the forces that used to be the government that oppressed them, and have been murdering them at every opportunity since. We might balk at shooting children, they won't. This is going to be ugly.

The deal is going to be exactly as it was with the shrine....C-130 gunships, along with arty and armor, with Marine recon units deploying to draw out the idiots. There will also be a fair amount of Marine sniper units deployed, for the idiots who intend to snipe at our troops. The battle will totally destroy any idiot who happens to be anywhere near a weapon. We may go house to house, but not until they've had a week or two of c-130's bringing lightening for all occasions.

I hope they "finish" it this time. No "cease fires" when the fanatics realize they are losing. The more of these nut-cases that are destroyed the better. Because they are fanatics, they think Allah has allowed them to live this long in Fallujah. They think they are protected.

Also, if the horrible nightmare of Kerry being elected occurs-taking out as many of the idiots as possible now, will at least give Iraq a chance to make it, in spite of Kerry withdrawing our troops, if he becomes president.(shudder...)

The assault on Fallujah will be Stalingrad, Jr.

Just Like Stalingrad

Be careful of suicide chemical weapons attacks on our troops.

Not really. If you notice, the U.S. never attacks the same way twice. It seems the Arabs have yet to catch on to this salient point. Seems the Russians had a little problem on this subject when they designed the defense of Baghdad too...
