Jim DeMint is going to bring home another seat for us in South Carolina. He is picking up a percentage point about every 25 minutes at the moment over Inez Tenenbaum.
Local stations have 30% precincts reporting right now with DeMint up by almost ten points.
Fox is currently calling it like this:
Jim DeMint Republican 137,644 (52%) Inez Tenenbaum Democrat 120,689 (46%) Patrick Tyndall Constitution 2,717 (1%) Rebekah Sutherland Libertarian 1,929 (1%) Tee Ferguson United Citizen 978 (0%) Efia Nwangaza Green 829 (0%)
This lead doesn't even include the very Republican Upstate. Once those votes are in it will be overwhelming.
Great news!!
Do we have an idea of what areas have been called? are heavy urban areas still out?
Heavily Republican cities of Greenville/Spartanburg in the upstate are not reporting yet.
If DeMint loses, he ought to be pilloried so that the villagers can throw fruit at him. I can't believe the guy said single moms shouldn't be allowed to teach. What an issue to campaign on. Foot-in-mouth disease is spreading among the GOP candidates.
I live in South Carolina!
Lots of DeMint supporters here.
52 to 46 is still al ittle too close for me. I guess it depends on the reporting precincts.
--- I can't believe the guy said single moms shouldn't be allowed to teach.---
I diidn't hear that one. :^)
We need some Republican Senators that aren't Mr. Congeniality though. DeMint will be good for us. I wish we had Bob Barr back!
Why haven't MSM called it for DeMint yet?
Way GO Sandlapers, hope that a tarheel by the name a Burr is there with DeMint.
DeMint did not say that single moms should not be allowed to teach. What he said was the single pregnant moms who have never been married should not be allowed to teach our children because it puts into question certain family value issues.
