Agree-girlie man. If not for Philly we would have carried PA. We overcame Pittsburgh like Ohio overcame Cleveland but their other two cities of equal population went Bush.

Go for it! We don't need you. You are in the wrong party anyway.

The Dems can have him. We'll still have 54 seats. Not like he's gonna vote to approve any of W's judges anyway.

if he bolts he will be a pariah like Jeffords
in 02 Jeffords asked Lott if he could come back and Lott laughed in his face
this will probably prevent him unless a bunch of the others make a coalition and bolt

You know, snarlin' Arlen will block one or two lower court judges. He needs to shore up his "moderate" bona fides with a sacrificial lamb or two. Nobody holds a SCOTUS nominee in committee anyway. If Arlen gets his victim or two, he'll feel free to release the rest of Bush's nominees.

Even stupider than Jeffords. Nobody bolts *into* the minority.

No matter what he decides, we will have 54 REPUBLICANS in the Senate. We don't need a fake one so we can pretend to have 55.

Chafee, Rhode Island, wrote in George H. Bush and says he might switch parties!!!

Doubtful. The only reason Jeffords switched was because he was making the Dems a majority. Who would voluntarily switch into minority party status?

Lincoln Chafee, Olympia Snowe - birds of a feather.

At least Snowe campaigned for Bush.

He has to, Patrick Kennedy(D)wants to make a run at Chaffee in 06' and he may want to head that off. If he stays a Repub. he would likely face a very strong fight from a legit Conservative, Cranston Mayor Steve Laffey, in the 06' Republican Primary.

I hope you guys are right. I don't hold it against RINOs for doing what they need to do to get elected. But Arlen has too often voted the wrong way on important votes.

Maybe he and Bush can agree to sacrifice a few sacrificial lambs to make Specter look good, but agree on the key votes this time around. Bush to the sucker candidates, "Sorry you have to get set up for a defeat in the senate, but I have other jobs waiting for you later."

We'll see.

OK. We'll just kill off a few more unborn babies. Maybe that will satisfy him.

Could the Republican party make a strong statement by just throwing him out, or is is his "right" to stay with the party as long as he wants?

It sure would be cool if the RNC got together and sent a few of 'em packing.
