What part of 'I've just gotten a huge mandate from the only people that matter, if you're lucky I'll let you come crawling to me' don't you understand, Herr Minister?

Sorry, Germany. I'm a son of a German immigrant and an american soldier and tho' I cried the day the two Germanys became one, I don't shed a tear over the loss of the relationship...

There shall be no German kissing up now. That ship has sailed Schroeder. You say no matter what, your troops are staying put in Germany. Fine, keep em. We don't care. Ours are coming home from your country and you can deal with the unemployment in your viliiages that house them and do without the billions of dollars we pay you to keep them.
See ya Fritz, been nice knowing you. Buh Bye!!!!!

"We should bomb Dresden again just for the heck of it. With us or against us, m-fs!!"

The bombing of Dresden was called strategic "terror bombing." Our noble President is attacking terrorism, NOT engaging in it.

Unfortunately the US leaving the UN is even more unlikely than France losing it's Security Council seat. but I sure would like to see it.

You are more than likely right, however, it will certainly never happen unless we make enough noise. If we do it just may happen.

It's just a bland, public, statement written by an underling. It means nothing. You'll notice it doesn't say, he "called the President to congratulate him". That's the protocol. This jerk just stood at the top of some stairs and read his statement. Touching.

"America is a very important partner, if not the most important one — and that's how it will continue to be," Interior Minister Otto Schily said.

Germany should have stood by the US, its partner and ally instead of standing with the madman Saddam Hussein and the French.

"I hope that a re-elected President Bush would use the chance offered by his re-election for a new beginning in European-American and German-American relations," Voigt said, adding that the U.S. leader would do well to "approach the Europeans ... and say, 'Let us sit down and talk about where we have common interests.'

Let’s not.

But a view held by many left-of-center European politicians surfaced in comments by a lawmaker in Schroeder's governing party, who called Bush "a fundamentalist" and said he was "worsening polarization in the world."

Multi-polar is exactly what France has called for thousands of times. Does Chiraq know that the Germans aren’t toeing the line for the rightful ruler of Europe, The French?

Dialogue was needed with the United States to restore its "common sense," he said.

How to win friends and influence enemies!

Common sense to us is a society that respects minorities, a healthy balance between work and life, medical treatment for everyone in need, the belief in the free decision of the pregnant woman and the fact that the terrorists came from inside the US, not from elsewhere... So, what now? Giving a two months head start for Ossama and his 40 Bandits, leaving a chaos in Afghanistan, now making a worse chaos in Iraq with permanently loosing troops (mostly people younger than me, that´s a bad thing to think about) and killing unarmed civilians on the streets, a president who lost every contact to reality because he and "his" fellows are now making lots of money "down there", there where your money goes... So, i would say, Germany might me faaaaaar better off, don´t you think? Don´t give a penny on what politicians say, the world has already lost every respect for you!
