Obviously, I am distressed at the outcome of the election. I hope, but don't trust, that the second Bush administration will have learned something from the mistakes of the first. What is at stake is our ability to recognize our own fallibility.
I established GeorgeSoros.com in order to engage in a critical discussion with readers about President Bush's policies, particularly in Iraq. To all those who sent in messages, thank you. I found the dialogue to be thought provoking, and I hope visitors to the site did as well. Georgesoros.com proved more popular than I initially imagined. There have been more than a million and a half visitors to the site and more than 30,000 people sent in messages.
Having established the site in the run up to the election, I frankly did not pause to consider what to do with it afterwards. Given the outcome, I now feel strongly that it should continue. Exactly what shape the future content will take, and how actively I will pursue the weblog, will take some time to figure out. In the meantime, I am traveling to Europe to attend to the business of my foundation - but I'll be back.
Please check back in a few weeks for updates. Thank you.
This JERK need to STFU!!! Sorry for the languague.
And now he heads off to a monastary, as promised.
send him an email, friends. thank him for wasting his money. BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA! oh, and for energizing the Bush base...
i guess the monastery he promised to go to isnt a silent one. darn.
I don't think so - the other day I believe he proclaimed himself a god.
NOTE TO CIA - Follow him!
George, F*CK YOU! Hit the bricks. Stay the F out of the USA.

$28 million and who knows how much wagered in currency markets... gone.
SCHADENFREUDE! Yum! Tears of unfathomable sadness!
Yes, Georgie Soros. LOOK AT YOURSELF. You FAILED to turn this election. The American public turned out in numbers greater than EVER before to say HELL NO to John Kerry and the globalist, UN, liberal media agenda.
Do not let the door hit on in the expletive rear end.
Please take Michael Moore with you.
Ops4 God Bless America!
Soros: Idiot! Scumbag! Now shove it.
Thank God he's keeping his website up!!! (sarcasm off)
> I hope, but don't trust, that the second Bush
> administration will have learned something ...
And zero about what Soros might have learned,
which is clearly nothing.
I agree. It has been hard to square.
Another useless bottomfeeder swimming off to EUrope- unfortunately he just can't make the plunge and stay there.
Check out the comments on his blog. Whadda bunch of stiffs.
Gosh, reading that sounded like the voice of Lucifer speaking, or Screwtape or something.
What mistakes?
Bush is apparently doing what "the people" want him to do.
Get over it. You LOST. You and all the monmey you spent!
You know, if we keep loading this site with tons of email telling mr soros what we think of him and his leftist politics, maybe he might decide its just not worth keeping it up. If there was ever a site that deserved HACKING .. it is www.georgesoros.com
This BASTARD hates America. What doesnt he take his money and his foundations and buy an Island somewhere and leave us the hell alone.
Take a few days off, then get yourself a sack cloth, roll in some ashes, and get yourself out in the middle of the Sahara to continue your aimless wanderings as a monk.
I guess Soros should have done what he promised and spent ALL of his fortune. Oh well, I am sure what money he did spend helped boost the economy, thus making Bush look even better.
Anyone know how much this numbskull spent?
I hope he moves to Hungary.
GEORGE.. TAKE MICHAEL WITH YOU!
George (may I call you George?):
At this momentous watershed in your life, I felt you deserve my advice on the direction your new vocation should take. I'm tempted to recommend the Trappist rule, since being quiet for a while would be good for you and wonderful for the rest of us, but I think it might be over austere. The Benedictines live well, and have historically been a harbor for the rich; but I wonder if you mightn't be happier as a Franciscan? Their vocation of caring for the poor might teach you to devote your energies to what is worthwhile, rather than attack better men than yourself and try to subvert the democratic choices of a nation.
In any case, please let me know which order you choose, and I'll send them a donation of $50 from the large stash I made from overmoneyed Kerry supporters trying to manipulate the futures markets. As of course you know, markets are more fun when they're rigged.
Here's to an enjoyable next four years
(Right Wing Professor)
Well now. There is a monestary near where I live here in Oregon that Soros could check in. There would be two advantages. He would be comfortable with the political climate in Oregon. Secondly, they require a vow of silence.
Leave the global government stuff to God and His Son Jesus. They already have it all figured out, and will be implementing it in the near future. God divided the nations at the tower of Babel, and only God can bring the nations back together. Don't try to be something your not. I know God, and you should get to know him. Put your faith in His plan's, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
Hey George, it sucks to be you.
Buh-Bye
...and out of a lot of money too.
"What is at stake is our ability to recognize our own fallibility."
Soros lacks the wit to realize that he is speaking of himself--not President Bush.
President Bush is obviously quite aware of his fallability. Evidently Soros has not learned himself the lesson that he is preaching.
Isn't there a currency somewhere that needs devaluing?
Him, Robert Redford, and Alec Baldwin (oh wait, that was Last Time!).
He is a rich man. He has the right to "pis@#$^away his money any way he chooses. I also appreciate it that he has helped the economy build so many jobs with his spending against Bush for no real effect. However, with our half regulated election campaign funding laws, his loophole for 527's needs to get plugged.
You seem to have "discernment of spirits." It's a spiritual gift.
No political or economic system yet devised comes close to solving the problems of humanity and society. The loss of an election - or two or three - doesn't indicate philosophical bankruptcy anymore than a depression or recession.
Your pompous self-righteousness is also without merit. I'm of the Left (to some extent anyway) and am neither depraved nor indecent. Only a fool thinks party loyalty is an indicator of moral rectitude. The claim itself and the ferocity which is used to express is proof of the lie.
The claim that love of God is guarantee against the sins of man is even worse. For centuries tyrants have made such claims. How quickly you've forgetten that every king and aristocrat claimed he occupied his position by divine right and usually the church was willing to back them.

send mr. soros a "thank you note"

HA HA HA
He spent over $20m and all he got was a crappy weblog?
Gee, the Republicans fought furiously against McCain-Feingold claiming any restrictions on the right to spend money promoting political viewpoints was an abridgement of Freedom of Speech.
Now here you are looking for ways to silence Soros.
There are names for people who wish to silence the voices of their political enemies - none of them suitable for use in polite discourse.
George Soros is the Lyndon LaRouche of the New Millenium. He has revealed himself, and in the future no candidate will be able to survive association with him.
This guy tried to buy the election for Kerry and the Dems by fraud and maybe market manipulation. He deserves to lose not only millions of dollars but his entire fortune. The best thing he could do (if he doesn't go to jail) is give away all his money to the poor and enter a monastery. It may redeem his very black soul.
Hey $oreA$$ (that is even more appropriate this day), find your monastary and stay there.
If you hear knocking on your door, it could be the Mossad or the KGB wanting to know if you financed any acts of terrorism in Israel or Russia.
No, it was a means to mobilize the theft and purchase of the United States by haters of freedom and liberty.
Stuff it, Mr. Sorry. You might be a player in international finance, but when it comes to political power in America, it is the street sweeper and garbage man who call the shots here.
But thank you for your cash input into America's economy. Money well donated.
