A Post-Election Comment From George Soros
GeorgeSoros.com ^ | November 3, 2004 | George Soros

Posted on 11/03/2004 3:04:59 PM PST by O.C. - Old Cracker

Obviously, I am distressed at the outcome of the election. I hope, but don't trust, that the second Bush administration will have learned something from the mistakes of the first. What is at stake is our ability to recognize our own fallibility.

I established GeorgeSoros.com in order to engage in a critical discussion with readers about President Bush's policies, particularly in Iraq. To all those who sent in messages, thank you. I found the dialogue to be thought provoking, and I hope visitors to the site did as well. Georgesoros.com proved more popular than I initially imagined. There have been more than a million and a half visitors to the site and more than 30,000 people sent in messages.

Having established the site in the run up to the election, I frankly did not pause to consider what to do with it afterwards. Given the outcome, I now feel strongly that it should continue. Exactly what shape the future content will take, and how actively I will pursue the weblog, will take some time to figure out. In the meantime, I am traveling to Europe to attend to the business of my foundation - but I'll be back.

Please check back in a few weeks for updates. Thank you.

The elite from the Left will never come to terms with their own bankrupt philosophy. They dream of the masses serving them as they continue to peddle their depravity to whomever will listen. There is not an ounce of decency in the Left, and this explains their overarching hatred of someone like George Bush who dares to occupy a position of power and yet humbles himself before the Creator of us all. George Bush's love for the God of us all infuriates and enrages the Left.

Unholy Alliance

by David Horowitz
Hardcover - (September 2004) - $27.95

In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the “Great Satan” with America’s radical Islamic enemies. In a remarkable exploration of the “Mind of the Left,” Horowitz traces the evolution of American radicalism from its Communist past to its “anti-war” present. He then shows how this Left was able to turn the Democratic Party presidential campaign around and reshape its views on the War on Terror.

I sent this to Mr. Soros - though I guess by now it's 'Brother George'.

George (may I call you George?):

At this momentous watershed in your life, I felt you deserve my advice on the direction your new vocation should take. I'm tempted to recommend the Trappist rule, since being quiet for a while would be good for you and wonderful for the rest of us, but I think it might be over austere. The Benedictines live well, and have historically been a harbor for the rich; but I wonder if you mightn't be happier as a Franciscan? Their vocation of caring for the poor might teach you to devote your energies to what is worthwhile, rather than attack better men than yourself and try to subvert the democratic choices of a nation.

In any case, please let me know which order you choose, and I'll send them a donation of $50 from the large stash I made from overmoneyed Kerry supporters trying to manipulate the futures markets. As of course you know, markets are more fun when they're rigged.

Here's to an enjoyable next four years

Well now. There is a monestary near where I live here in Oregon that Soros could check in. There would be two advantages. He would be comfortable with the political climate in Oregon. Secondly, they require a vow of silence.

Dear George:

Leave the global government stuff to God and His Son Jesus. They already have it all figured out, and will be implementing it in the near future. God divided the nations at the tower of Babel, and only God can bring the nations back together. Don't try to be something your not. I know God, and you should get to know him. Put your faith in His plan's, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

"Obviously, I am distressed at the outcome of the election"

...and out of a lot of money too.

"What is at stake is our ability to recognize our own fallibility."

Soros lacks the wit to realize that he is speaking of himself--not President Bush.

President Bush is obviously quite aware of his fallability. Evidently Soros has not learned himself the lesson that he is preaching.

He is a rich man. He has the right to "pis@#$^away his money any way he chooses. I also appreciate it that he has helped the economy build so many jobs with his spending against Bush for no real effect. However, with our half regulated election campaign funding laws, his loophole for 527's needs to get plugged.

You don't get it.

No political or economic system yet devised comes close to solving the problems of humanity and society. The loss of an election - or two or three - doesn't indicate philosophical bankruptcy anymore than a depression or recession.

Your pompous self-righteousness is also without merit. I'm of the Left (to some extent anyway) and am neither depraved nor indecent. Only a fool thinks party loyalty is an indicator of moral rectitude. The claim itself and the ferocity which is used to express is proof of the lie.

The claim that love of God is guarantee against the sins of man is even worse. For centuries tyrants have made such claims. How quickly you've forgetten that every king and aristocrat claimed he occupied his position by divine right and usually the church was willing to back them.

Gee, the Republicans fought furiously against McCain-Feingold claiming any restrictions on the right to spend money promoting political viewpoints was an abridgement of Freedom of Speech.

Now here you are looking for ways to silence Soros.

There are names for people who wish to silence the voices of their political enemies - none of them suitable for use in polite discourse.

This guy tried to buy the election for Kerry and the Dems by fraud and maybe market manipulation. He deserves to lose not only millions of dollars but his entire fortune. The best thing he could do (if he doesn't go to jail) is give away all his money to the poor and enter a monastery. It may redeem his very black soul.

No, it was a means to mobilize the theft and purchase of the United States by haters of freedom and liberty.

Stuff it, Mr. Sorry. You might be a player in international finance, but when it comes to political power in America, it is the street sweeper and garbage man who call the shots here.

But thank you for your cash input into America's economy. Money well donated.
