Parrish: U.S. voters 'out of step'
American voters showed that they are "completely out of step with most of the free world," Carolyn Parrish said. (CP archive) OTTAWA (CP) - The re-election of a war-mongering president shows Americans are "out of step" with the rest of the world, says a Liberal MP infamous for her blistering attacks on George W. Bush.
Carolyn Parrish said Wednesday that she's "dumbfounded" by Bush's victory. "He has been reconfirmed as their commander-in-chief, and he is a war-like man." American voters showed that they are "completely out of step with most of the free world," Parrish said. "I guess it's a reflection of the profound psychological damage of 9-11."
The comments came just hours after Prime Minister Paul Martin warned his MPs in a private caucus meeting not to make incendiary comments in the wake of the U.S. election.
Parrish wasn't at the meeting and apparently didn't get the message.

Why doesn't he come over here and say that?
I tell ya what. Canada is slowing creeping into the French class of 'allies'.
I believe the rest of the world if out of step with us.
Hey, Carolyn, guess what?
WE DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK.
Well, Carolyn, a couple of things didn't change last night - Bush is still President, and you're still an idiot.
If Prime Minister Martin was serious about wanting better relations with America then for starters he ought to do something about this beast and her big mouth.
They are economically and militarily impotent and we're the ones out of step?
Blame Canada, Blame Canada,
Theyre not a real country anyway!!!!
We ARE the free world. It's Canada that's 'out of step'.
I wonder what those brave Canadians that stormed the beaches of Normandy would say about this socialist reject.
An obvious Kerry supporter.
Yes, and completely out of step with the subjugated world, too. Guess what, we got the American thing going again.
Some of the Canadian lawmakers remind me of my dogs. They're the biggest baddest dogs around......when they're inside the fence.
True. We LEAD the free world while the meek of Canada, and elsewhere, follow. We can kick anybody's ass and Canada is working its way toward the front of the line.
Note to Canada: there is a border between our countries, it's there for a purpose. You are not Americans and we, thank God, aren't Canadians. So.....stuff it!
So if Al Queda killed 3,000 of you Canadians you would of learned to live and forget?
I have one answer for you anti-Canadians.
Listen to what senior US senators Ted Kennedy or Harkin have to say.
This canadian nutball is a polite conservative by comparison!

They'd probablly be like France and just surrender-issue Burka's and prayer rugs to their population.
Ironic that she, of all people, would be talking about psychological damage.
What's he talking abute,eh? Friggin Canuck!
What's she talking abute,eh? Friggin Canuck!
The only damn reason they are free !! ??? Come on say it , say it !!!
Don't knock on our door again.
Bless your heart Carolyn, you just don't get it.
That is usually what you elect for Commander in Chief. Whimpy weenies just get lots of people killed needlessly.
"Now, Parrish is urging Bush to dump his ballistic missile program.."
And replace it with what...SPITBALLS. Mrs. Parrish, although you are totally failing to grasping reality, I want to remind you that it is the United States who is protecting your Canadian a$$! Your military capability is severely inadequate and your attitude doesn't help either.
They talk about Bush being a divider....honey, I'd say you need some serious classes in CLASS!
If she actually mattered then maybe what she says would matter. But she doesen't and it doesn't.
Well, they are playing nicee-nice with Iran and Iran had one of their citizens murdered so at least in her case the answer is yes.
We have our own problems with about fifty US Congrexx critters and a dozen or more US Senators who are outright security risks.
Very few countries, and very few people appreciate what we do for the world. The day will come when we have our backs up against a wall in the face of global socialist pressure, and we will need to make the choice of either joining them, or remaining the great and free country that has given so much of itself for the likes of France.
Our mentally ill response to 9//11/2001 had been to help defend Canada too, if it came to that.
Then along came the wonderful contemporary attitude of much of Canada. Our plans moved to treating Canada as a sacrificial buffer zone.
Too bad some folks can't STFU.
I have news for you devil dog, those idiots to the north of our fair country are running full tilt to the Le Gaul trou dropping masters of Europe.
thanks for your service.
The characterization of President Bush as a "war-mongering president" shows that this woman is out of touch with reality.
[American voters showed that they are "completely out of step with most of the free world," Parrish said.]
Well, Mrs. Parish, maybe you've since have been able to comprehend that we don't care to be in step with pacifist redistributionists. I suggest that Canada get back "in step" before your society completes its disintegration into socialist dependency.
Proudly out of step,
"Too bad some folks can't STFU."
Actually, I prefer to hear what these folks have to say. It let's me know who I can count on when the chips are down.
During the Revolutionary War about a third of the Colonials favored the Declaration. About a third were against it. The other third moved to two colonies in Canada, Ontario and Quebec. I would keep a close eye on the Brits, some of them would want to come take the 13 southern colonies back if they thought they could.
Check the tagline.
I thought we did that last night!
Bush comes across as a guy, who has a phucking pair, does what he means and means what he says and Americans sent a clear statement to the rest of the free world in a strong voice, "We are the world's only superpower and phuck what you and the rest of your phoney banana good time rock-n-rollers think!"
Don't be alarmed if some peace-loving islamist takes advantage of the "opportune" position you must assume during the call to prayer, Allah tells us this is his right.
Did you perhaps mean "carpet munching"?
If Canada would join the free world, this wouldn't upset them so much.
We are the free world you frog-loving parasite! Think Canada could sustain for longer than 1/4 a second without US Might protecting them at a cost of 0$ Canadian (which is -.35 US)
"out of step with most of the free world" is somewhere i am very proud to be.
