Why would Ashcroft quit now??? Rumors around the beltway are that his health is failing, and he wants to spend time with his family while he can still enjoy it.

Falluja - when I heard he would address the nation, that was the first thought it my mind. I hope they level it.

I want to see David Gregory ask W some confrontational hectoring question, and watch W just bite his little leftist head off.

I think so too. But I have this fantasy of the press going berserkers if they find out we have Osama--and we caught him before the election.

Why am I not unhappy that Ashcroft is "resigning"?
He is indeed a good, decent, religious, patriotic, conservative and capable man. Yet, I'm glad to see him go for some strange, gut reason. I never connected with him, ever.
Anyone else feel this way?

Could it be Rehnquist's resignation, also?
