One Thing for Which I am Thankful to Senator Kerry (Vanity)

Posted on 11/04/2004 7:00:39 AM PST by ksen

Senator Kerry had the opportunity to put this country through another Election 2000 hell and chose not to. So to Senator Kerry I say, "Thank you."

I am glad he is not President and I wish him well..........in retirement. ;^)

It was the right thing to do. Should we now start thanking thugs for not mugging us?

I agree. I heard on the Radio this morning that insiders said that Edwards, wanted to fight this thing out and Kerry told him to get some sleep and forget about it.

He will remain in the Senate to (and probably thru) his next election, in 2 years I believe. Mass isn't smart enough to dump him.

Kerry's decision to concede rather than put America through a repeat of the 2000 election may have been his finest hour.

I was thinking that too, but not surprised at all that the Breck Girl wanted to litigate the crap out of it. I was very happy that Kerry slapped him down like the pansy he is.

John Kerry didn't do it to save this Country -- if anyone really listened to what he had to say, he did it because he couldn't win those provisional ballots -- if he thought he had a chance to squeak out a win, he would have put us through hell to challenge.

He had until 2:00 to concede or Pres Bush was declaring victory. If people don't think he was forced into that speech, then I have swampland for sale.

Unlike some others on here, I don't forget the comments that John Kerry made before and his lack of calling Pres Bush to concede on election night when he was told that the ballots were not going to give him Ohio. He used fight in his speech that he would have done that if he could have won Ohio -- says it all!

Untrue!!!!  Kerry had zero leverage to try pulling lawyer stunts in Ohio due to:

1) The Bush-Cheney win would be confirmed by any uncounted absentee and provisional ballots. It might have taken 10 days for a final tally but Bush would won

2) Americans would take a dim view of GWBush being stymied in Ohio when he won nationwide by more than three million votes and additional Republican Senators and Congressmen were elected

I think it is indicative as to how low the Democrats have gone when we feel the need to THANK them for doing what any five year old child would see is the obvious thing to do.

Personally, my first thought was - that is either first or most honorable thing you have ever done for your country. For that he does get a measure of respect.

(I also suspect the DNC encouraged him to conceded. They have gotten their @sses handed to them in every federal election since the Gore shenanigan.)

Agree. That's why he waited until 2 o'clock - hoping things would turn around. His advisors finally convinced him to throw in the towel. I see no reason to thank him.

Dear Senator (part-time) Kerry:

Thanks! For being dumb enough to scratch open the scab of Vietnam and believe you could use Vietnam as a basis for being elected president.

Thanks! Because of your dumb idea a lot of people you trashed 30+ years ago have been able to come forward to clear their good names. If not for your failed run at the presidency many of these people would have died with the stain you put on them still in place. Like so many Vietnam Vets who have already gone to their graves knowing many in America thought them to be war criminals because of you.

Thanks! For being the fool you are. I'll thank you even more when you sign the form 180 and allow this country to see what kind of man you really are.

I hope this grateful little note helps to bring more of the country together.

nick

Not that retirement will be much of a shock to him.

He probably spends more on STAMPS in a year than the average person pays for housing. Oh,wait...he has franking priviledges..he gets his stamps free, right?

Correct. Bush pushed Kerry into conceding if he had any thought of dawdling
John Kerry is the puppet of a playing_for_keeps_  Donk money machine. No way would he have conceded unless the Donk leadership thought it was unwinable in Ohio

Did you notice that three Democrat Governors - Iowa, Nevada & New Mexico - held off results 'til Kerry's warriors (yeah, right!) determined how useful a fight in Ohio would be?

Iowa closed down obvious results for Bush as the counters were too tired & Richardson threw out some falsehoods about yet uncounted votes from Demo regions - delaying the inevitable.

Not to mention the timidity of the "Governors" of ABC, cBS, NBC & CNN. Even Fox was unwilling to call the one more state that would have put "W" over the 269 Electoral Votes.

Kerry's ilk knew a fight would not be won & that there was no will, even from their allies in the MSM. He remains a weak, timid, self-serving coward. Virtually Without Virtue.

Many of us believe he did it because he was issued an ultimatum from the Bush Campaign: Concede now, or we will release volumes of evidence of criminal voter fraud.

I'll take it a step further -- I think Attorney General John Ashcroft is resigning because he thinks we should have prosecuted the Democratic criminals, and he was overridden.

I agree with ksen. It was clear that a long fight would not have changed things. Kerry had nothing to gain by a protracted fight. It would only drive his negatives up nationally, in Massachusetts, and in the Senate.

I'm not surprised that Edwards wanted one, however. He wanted to stir up a base for his 2008 Presidential run.

I'm glad there wasn't a fight. I doubt the country's best interests was the tipping factor.
