Here's what has some of DU in an uproar

Go to www.franklincountyohio.gov. Go to the election results. One district (Gahanna 1-B) shows Bush getting more votes than total votes cast in every other race. Each race is showing approx. 600 votes. Bush alone got more than 4000.

I live in Fairfield Cty. a neighbor of Franklin Cty where Gahanna is located. This year when I went to vote there were at least 2000 people waiting which was absolutely unprecedented. I could not imagine what was going on. Then I asked and found that the majority of these voters lived in Columbus, but their county was Fairfield instead of Franklin where most of Columbus votes. They had changed the polling place for these people. If one were to go to our precinct and look for past history they would find the same type of annomaly.

Amish may have also turned out just to vote for the President (and maybe some other top offices).

Again, "the English world" is foreign to them, what do they care about public school boards?

You are exactly right. I stand corrected.

If enough of them hold their breath, do you think that their county will turn a lovely shade of blue?

I got up to 350 by critizing Republicans I don't fancy to
once in a while but they outed me in a discussion of what
the mission of the military is.

The same thing happened to me. I actually posted 4 good items as I was pretending to be one of them. I must not have done a convincing job either.

A lot (repeat that LOT) of people only vote for in a Presidential election. Many of them only vote for President. These people over at DU are dumb as rocks.

The DU thugs are planning a protest on Inuguration day, Jan. 20.

Bust out the water hoses! I'd love to man one of them. Speaking of "FRAUD:"

That causes me to wonder whether some of the really far-out-there, over-the-top posters at DU are actually FReepers trying to do credibility damage.

We've had some of those here, but the mods are pretty good at finding and zotting them.

I'm not sure one could be too outrageous at DU these days. It's as superheated as I've ever seen it.

I am an election judge. I can tell you that this happened a lot in this election. Many people came out and only voted on two things: President, and gay marriage. They left all the other items blank! Common. No fraud there...One does NOT have to fill in all the blanks. What counts is if there were more votes for Bush than people who signed the poll book.

I get your point but....

Hanging chads are irrelevant in Ohio. There are cross state rules that define what is a hanging chad in Ohio and that was the root of the problem in FLorida. But more than that only a margin of less than 1/4 of 1% can trigger a recount to even get a look at those chads and Bush has a margin of 10 or 12 times that.

4,000 doesn't cut it. Kerry would have to magically "find" about 112,000 votes to even get a look at the chads.

I was a judge too, and that is an absolute fact.

I'm sure that many people who normally do not pay attention to local or state politicos went to the polls this time for the SOLE purpose of voting for President. It would not surprise me that President Bush got far more votes than the total of others. If the ballots are legit, then the undervote is meaningless. If you don't know any of the candidates a wise person just might skip all choices rather than take a WAG.

That folks believe that ad amazes me. The southern DEMOCRATS ordered those hoses, not the Republicans!

What you have to remember is that school boards are funded by your tax dollars. Even if you do not have children in school, you have a financial stake in how public schools are run.

I went over and checked this morning on how crazy they went
Tuesday night. I wasn't permitted to even read their forums
until today.

They deleted most of the posts after midnight Tuesday and
Wednesday more or less homogenized the board.

If you leave directly from Free Republic and go to DU they may be able to track you. Or, you just find it really hard to act like a DU idiot :-)

County Status As of Nov 4, 2004 at 11:15 am
http://vote2004.ss.ca.gov/Returns/status.htm

I'd still like to see an explanation for this:
County Name Nevada
138 Total Precincts
138 Precincts Rpt'g
100% Rpt'g
65,411 Reg'd Voters
94,281 Ballots Cast
144.1% Turnout
(Nov) 2 8:11pm First Report Date-Time
(Nov) 3 2:15am Latest Report Date-Time
F Report Type*

How did it change in 2 hours?

138 Total Precincts
138 Precincts Rpt'g
100% Rpt'g
65,411 Reg'd Voters
47,032 Ballots Cast
71.9% Turnout
(Nov) 2 8:11pm First Report Date-Time
(Nov) 3 4:15am Latest Report Date-Time
U Report Type*

* Report Type:
R = Regular election night report
F = Final report filed on election night
U = Update to final election night report

What is the accounting for the overcount in the early morning?

I think they're trying to stir up trouble over here. I
also think a few of their FR infiltrators have been
hanging around to try to incite whatever stuff they can
over here. Their site is so vulgar it has about already
collapsed from the filthy words posted on it. It's like
the little kid who learns a new "naughty" word and says it
over and over.

I'm not clear about this particular instance and I can cite scores of examples in many states.

But...

Mistakes are common as dirt when reporting votes. Remember many of the election workers are elderly folks who may work from as early as 6am until 2am or later. Any count that violates several "rational checks" are recounted before final returns are reported.
