BAGHDAD — For U.S. troops serving in Iraq — many of whom are preparing for a imminent confrontation with armed militants in rebel strongholds — the presidential election back home passed by quickly, with most saying they were relieved that their commander in chief, President Bush, fended off a challenge from Sen. John Kerry.

It is remarkable that troops, with their butts on the line and in total support of President Bush, were ignored my the MSM and both political parties.

Their support was worth more to me than millions of campaign dollars.

"John Kerry has always just been weak," said Army Sgt. Tod Feegan of South Dakota. "He's always wanted to negotiate his way out of things"

My sentiments exactly. Many of us posted threads here during the last months that told of how the troops would feel with John Kerry as their CINC. This article is proof positive that Kerry would have devasted morale in the military. Kerry's weakness would have been an infection that would have robbed our military of its heartiest souls. Good Luck and God Speed to all of our brave men and women who will fight to make us safe at home. Our paryers are with them in this most nobel cause.

Sgt. James Smith, serving in the Army's 1st Cavalry Division at a desolate base in southern Baghdad, said he didn't care about all the campaign hoopla over military records or exit strategies or lost munitions.

Sgt, bless your work, but just one correct - it was the MEDIA hoopla, not campaign hoopla.

Yep! Isn't it amazing that the same media that "uses" these troops when it advances their agenda, had no use for them when it came to their support for Bush. As one father so elegantly put it (para): Why should I allow you (the media) to photograph my son in his death, when you had no concern for him during his life. The only time the media gives our soldiers the time of day is when they are dying...and only then, for political purposes.

On the way home from work I heard Hannity talking to a USMC Major. The Major said that they were getting ready to deploy to Iraq when they heard the exit polling crap. He said he, and most of the Marines at LeJuene had already voted. He also said this, and take this to heart..."We were all a little scared".

Let me tell you something, having worked with the Marines in the Nam (I was 101st Airbourne) WHEN A MARINE GETS "A LITTLE SCARED" YOU SHOULD BE COMPLETELY HORRIFIED, PRAYING TO GOD AND HIDING IN A HOLE, cause these people fear NOTHING! They don't call him sKerry for nothin'.
