Psalm 5: 11-12
But let all who take refuge in You be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread Your protection over them,
that those who love Your Name may rejoice in you.
For surely, O Lord, You bless the righteous;
You surround them with Your favor as with a shield.
Praise and exaltation await You, O God! We make a joyful noise unto You this day, and we lift up our hands with one accord, stretching high to the skies, longing to feel the very touch of Your mighty hand wrapped around our own. Father, You answer us with awesome deeds of righteousness. You crown the year with Your bounty and Your carts overflow with abundance. All the earth bows down to You and we sing praise to Your Name.
Father we have seen Your awesome works in mans behalf this week. May the people praise You, O God; may all the people praise You. May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You rule the people justly and guide the nations of the earth. May the righteous be glad and rejoice before You; may they be happy and joyful.
O Lord, may our President and his family take refuge in You and delight in all Your ways. Spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your Name may rejoice in You. For surely, O Lord, You bless this righteous man; You surround him with Your favor as with a shield. You are the God who has avenged our President; You have delivered him from the attacks of the people and You have made him the head of nations.
We are grateful that You, our most High God, are the shield of our military men and women, for You save the upright in heart. May any trouble that the terrorists wish to cause these precious soldiers recoil on themselves; may violence come down on their own heads. For You, our Lord are known by Your justice, and the wicked will be ensnared by the work of their hands.
O God, may we whose hearts have been so touched by Your awesome answers to prayer this week, fail not to pass on to our children and our childrens children the tales of Your mighty works. We love You, O Lord, because You have heard our voices and our supplications---because You have bowed down Your ear unto us. Therefore, we will praise You and bless You and call upon Your Name for as long as we live. Thanks be to our Awesome God in the Precious Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Let us be glad and rejoice in Him!
Yes. And take a moment to thank God that our prayers were answered by the Almighty.
Rejoice indeed. God answers the prayers of His faithful.
Our God loves grateful hearts. Thanks, pypo.
Prayers up.
"Father we have seen Your awesome works in mans behalf this week."
And thank you LORD!!
Amen and Praise Be.
I pray for our president daily. I thank God that has once again had mercy on America and led us through this trying time. God will take care of his own, he has proven this through the recent election. This does give me hope for America that there are still more good in the world than evil. Thank you God!
Thanking God still and always. Praying for our President continuously.
This does give me hope for America that there are still more good in the world than evil. Thank you God!
A big Amen to that!
Thanks for praying with us, TXBSAFH. God bless you.
Thanks for joining us in this spirit of gratitude, international american.
Praise be, indeed! Thank you, MontanaBeth.
I agree with you. The Lord does take care of His own, and yes, we found out that there are a lot of people who share our values and our love of the Lord.
Thanks, bella1. We have many blessings, don't we?
It was an encouraging election in many ways, wasn't it?
Amen and Amen!
I just heard on the news that there's going to be a major battle in Falluja. We need to pray for...
1. The protection & success of the service men & women involved
2. Wisdom for the commanders
3. Wisdom for President Bush, Prime Minister Allawi & their advisors
4. Strength & peace for the families of the troops
5. That the terrorist Zarqawi will be neutralized
Although I'm not really new to Free Republic (I first heard about it from Rush before the 2002 election) I am new to this prayer thread. I don't know if your familiar with www.presidentialprayerteam.org -- it was started in 2001, had been in the works before 9/11, but that event pushed up the start date. You receive a weekly email prayer update for President Bush & various cabinet members. You can even "adopt a troop".
AMEN FAITH AND AMEN ALL!
GRACE TO YOU BRETHREN!
Ps 150:1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
3 Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; Praise Him with the lute and harp!
4 Praise Him with the timbrel and dance; Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!
6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD!
(NKJV)
"Be thankful unto him, and bless his name."
- Psalm 100:4
Our Lord would have all his people rich in high and happy thoughts
concerning his blessed person. Jesus is not content that his brethren
should think meanly of him; it is his pleasure that his espoused ones
should be delighted with his beauty.
We are not to regard him as a bare necessary, like to bread and water,
but as a luxurious delicacy, as a rare and ravishing delight.
To this end he has revealed himself as the "pearl of great price" in its
peerless beauty, as the "bundle of myrrh" in its refreshing fragrance, as
the "rose of Sharon" in its lasting perfume, as the "lily" in its spotless
purity.
As a help to high thoughts of Christ, remember the estimation that Christ
is had in beyond the skies, where things are measured by the right
standard. Think how God esteems the Only Begotten, his unspeakable gift to
us. Consider what the angels think of him, as they count it their highest
honour to veil their faces at his feet. Consider what the blood-washed
think of him, as day without night they sing his well deserved praises.
High thoughts of Christ will enable us to act consistently with our
relations towards him. The more loftily we see Christ enthroned, and the
more lowly we are when bowing before the foot of the throne, the more
truly shall we be prepared to act our part towards him. Our Lord Jesus
desires us to think well of him, that we may submit cheerfully to his
authority. High thoughts of him increase our love. Love and esteem go
together.
Therefore, believer, think much of your Master's excellencies.
Study him in his primeval glory, before he took upon himself your nature!
Think of the mighty love which drew him from his throne to die upon the
cross! Admire him as he conquers all the powers of hell! See him risen,
crowned, glorified! Bow before him as the Wonderful, the Counsellor, the
mighty God, for only thus will your love to him be what it should.

SOLI DEO GLORIA!
God has been with me all my life. He has carried me when I've needed carrying. Thank you dear God for watching over our beloved President Bush. Thank you Faith for your beautiful prayers.
So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase. - Ac 9:31
Lord, I've been meditating on how I feel about our recent wonderful victory, and I've come up with "peace" as the answer. I have a deep feeling of contentment and rightness about the choices America made this week.
The Hebrew word 'Shalom' carries the connotation, "everything as it ought to be", and that is how it seems now. America has averted a near-disaster and will instead reinstall a godly man with godly vision as its chief executive. How blessed Your church is that this is so. We will have freedom to live quiet lives in all dignity and to propagate Your glorious kingdom.
I also know that great tests are coming. Mr. Bush, now with the mandate he lacked in year 2000, has every intention of moving forward with a much-needed radical domestic agenda. He also is deadly serious about protecting us from further terrorism, and dealing with Iran and North Korea looms ominously in the not-distant future. For that we are going to have to buck not only world opinion, but benighted domestic political forces as well. It is not going to be easy.
But for now it has been wonderful to dwell in a season of peace and rest, ministering to You and being ministered to by You, and enjoying the fellowship of the Body of Christ.
Not all are at rest, however. Even now our forces gather for the needed assault on Falujah. Time is up for the terrorists, their attempt to sway our elections having failed. Mr. Bush now is going to lower the hammer. We ask for their protection and complete success.
Thank you, Lord, for all Your goodness toward us. We love You. Please comfort all who are hurting.
THanks for praying, reaganaut. God bless you.
Thanks for your post and suggestions, CarolinaGOP. I'm glad you are praying with us.
Amen, alpha! May His Name be glorified through all eternity.
God bless you, Patriotic Bostonian. Many thanks.
Yes, Lord. We confess that You are a shield for our troops. Protect them by night and day, Father, giving them supernatural strength and courage. In the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Thanks, Paul_B. I agree that the feeling of peace is exceptionally sweet after the bitter battle we've had.
Frangipane made a comment today on the election:
Recent Elections
As we approached elections in the USA, it struck me as inconceivable that the destiny of President Bush would not also have been foreordained by the Almighty. I noticed that he is often identified by his middled initial, "W." Yet, even as I listened to the President's supporters chant, "four more years," it occurred to me that the President's middle initial, "W," when spoken phonetically, actually says Double You, as in "I will double your time in office four more years."
Of course, the Lord didn't need a prophetic play on words to escort this President into office. Yet, with the re-election of President Bush, I've realized something else: he was given four more years on the strength of evangelical Christians. In fact, "moral values" was the leading reason people voted for President Bush! In the midst of a shaky economy and a difficult war in Iraq, the desire for righteousness determined the outcome of this nation!
Many politicians on both sides of the aisle have ignored the traditional values of faith and family. Sen. Dodd, D-Conn., admitted, "We have lost the ability to connect with people's value systems and we're going to have to work to get that back." Rep. Pomeroy, D-N.D., said "I think that the Democratic party nationally is perceived as being out of step with mainstream values. I want our party to do a better job of speaking to matters of faith and family."
I think it is vital that evangelical Christians divorce ourselves from gloating or any expression of self-righteousness. It is imperative that, while others are searching for answers, we truly represent Christ's heart. Let us speak with humility of our values and then, with wisdom, lead others to Jesus, our source of all virtue.
Beloved, both Republicans and Democrats, as well as the news and entertainment media, are all realizing that something powerful is awakening in America. They had a first glimpse when The Passion of the Christ came out; they were staggered by the effect of praying, voting Christians during this last election. Now, it is time to pray this advance forward.
As I've often said since January, 2004, we are in a year of release. The constrictions we been experiencing are not death throes, but birth pangs; they are not part of what restricts us, but releases us. Indeed, there is a destiny unfolding, not just for George W. Bush, but for the body of Christ in America. I believe that the Lord is in the process of answering our prayers and increasing our effectiveness. Concerning His anointing on our lives, He says, "I will double you."
Thanks for praying, Texagirl4W. God bless you.
I believe that just as God chose W for such a time as this, so also He has chosen the supporting cast of prayer warriors who will "pray this advance forward." How exciting that we can be a part of this advance.
I am new to this thread. I humbly add my prayers for our President. Thank you all for this encouraging thread. I am a homeschooling Mom. Today I framed a picture of President Bush and hung it in our classroom. It will remind us to pray for him and our Nation every single morning when we do our devotions. I join you all in praise of the glorious Name of Jesus and thank our Almighty God for His intervention in this election!
To God be the glory! We're happy to have you join us. If you would like to be added to our "ping" list, please let me know.
This is so important! Thank you for your prayer tonight.
Dear Faith, your prayer today is honestly one of the most beautiful I have ever read! I'm going to pray it again, out loud, in Worship to our Mighty King. Thank you for filling us with Nourishment from His Table!
To God be the glory, KM. May His face shine upon you.
