Didn't Buchanan point out that it was the Republicans in those so-called "Blue" states that paid all the taxes?
O'Donnell is a lunatic.
O'Donnell is a lunatic and a LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, LIAR... ( My O'Donnell imitation in a debate).
Yes, Patrick J. did point that out.
Now O'Donnell's saying they ought to secede too? The first left-wing whacko I heard this from is Bob Beckles. Then I heard it from Geraldine Ferraro. After hearing this, I wrote friends and family an email, which included the following...
"Bob Beckles, democrat operative and spokesman said recently, after the election, that the red states might as well secede (personally, I LIKE the idea). Geraldine Ferraro (Ferrari = powerful, sexy, Italian sports car, and winner of many races; Ferraro = powerless democrat, past her prime and not particularly attractive, Italian poor sport, famous loser of races) said on Hannity and Colmes last night that if the red states seceded from the blue that they would lose all of the talented, enlightened people and would be left with nothing (or something very much to that effect). What a pompous, condescending, arrogant, conceited, bitch. Sounds like a mirror image of Kerry, although he is not a bitch (that merely describes his crazy-ass wife and his "little-bitch-of-a-running-mate-with-the-little-girlie-hands-as-described-by-Ann-Coulter" - John Edwards). NO WONDER THEY LOST BIG TIME."
Second, manufacturing, distribution, and financial centers will naturally be located in centralized locations (cities). Functions requiring specialized knowledge will naturally be clustered around the centers of higher education (cities again). Red states are important as MARKETS. Cut off the red areas as markets and the blue will collapse. It is just a function of a free market and has nothing to do with the productivity or values of the comparative regions.
There is a disturbing trend to a welfare mentality in the red areas but it is a shadow of what is in the blue areas. The brightest of the rural young people are being pushed to the cities for education and jobs. The remaining population is aging rapidly and is dependent on Social Security and other programs. The legacy industries are being replaced with quasi-governmental economies such as health care.
What he says is true to a point. The bigger point is that they can be replaced in a heartbeat, we can't.
O'Donnell is a mentally unbalanced and turns these shows into freak shows.
Let's go for the exit plan on a county-by-county basis.... Hello Canada...
Hey Larry, where are you going to put all of the welfare children. Your blue territory amounts to several large cities...I guess you better get used to living amonst the everyday folk and having limits on the number of children you can have...your little country has no where to grow.
