We must make it perfectly clear to Rick Santorum that if he lets Specter chair the judiciary committee, we WILL NOT SUPPORT HIM in 2006 for Senate. Instead, we will support Pat Toomey.
We must also make it perfectly clear to Bill Frist that if he does not block Specter Chairmanship, he might as well not even enter the 2008 primaries.
Both of these men hold the power over Specter and we must threaten to boycott their futures if they ignore their base.

-- Remember the SC Senate PRimaries, when everybody said that we needed to nominate former Gov. David Beasley because DeMint was not a protectionist and Beasley was more moderate? Toomey would have Won! Conservatives did not show up to vote for Specter, but they would have for Toomey. And who knows, maybe with Toomey on the ticket more Republicans would have shown up to vote for dubya. The GOP went spineless in Pennsylvania last spring, and now they are paying for it.

Wanting to boot Santorum is the nuttiest thing proposed on this board in a very long time.
It would be incredibly stupid politically to actively try to get a sitting Senator from your own State knocked off of a committee chairmanship. You're the one that is crazy for suggesting this. You should be embarrassed.
Instead of selling the hot-dog, out of charity you should have told Kerry to fast and do penance for supporting the slaughter of the innocents on an unprecedented scale.
Specter is nothing more than a troll in the Republican party. Did you know his campaign in the primaries recruited democrats to come switch registration to vote for him in the primaries? I don't have a problem with a big tent, but I do have a problem with a man who does not believe in the core tenets of our party being in a leadership position.

That's a legitimate political issue, as a power play, as regards Frist, though I doubt there's any cohesive group of Republican supporters that could make the case.

Santorum supported abortion at least indirectly by publicly promoting Specter over a pro-life Republican.
