Business interests are also worried that a Chairman Specter would derail the President's tort reform agenda

Specter? Against tort reform? Nahhhhh

Keep up the calls, faxes, emails, even VISITS---

Say NO to Specter as chairman.

Yes, I would be more than satisfied to see Hatch's tenure as chair extended.

I just got back from newly re-elected Sen. Bond's office (R-MO)and from Sen. Talent's office (R-MO).

I dropped off a letter at each office and voiced my opposition to Specter's position.

"The original comments attributed to Senator Specter were very unnerving…. His statement clarifying his position is reassuring."

This original comments were not "attributed" to him, they were made by him. His "clarification" was a result of pressure but won't last beyond any acendency to the chairmanship.

"I can't believe his bad judgement to pop off as he did right after the election.

Self-righteous, liberal arrogance at its best. Lecturing the PRESIDENT after a record-breaking victory!! Even the Dems haven't been so blatant.

Specter's comments, the day after the election, warning Bush about sending up pro-life judges, have ignited in a firestorm that could sink Specter's bid

We sure are fortunate the senile old coot ran his big mouth mere minutes after the President was re-elected, when we were all still fired up. Arlen just couldn't restrain himself, and it's likely to cost him a position he's been eyeing for a long time. Can you imagine how bitter he's going to be?

Yep, let's keep the pressure on.

I wouldn't be surprised if this jackass resigns for "health reasons" and lets Fast Eddie Rendell appoint a new Dem senator...

I Specter gets the chair, the GOP did not listen to their voters.

Sources on Capitol Hill and in the White House suggest Sen. Arlen Specter's (R.-Penn.) campaign to become chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee may be crumbling just as it began. Still, opponents of Specter's run face an uphill battle.

Great journalism. So which is it?

Such a Democrat would have a decent chance of having a higher ACU rating that Specter.

Hope Specter pays for what he did.

I called Specter's office when he voted Scottish during impeachment, and I told them I'd never vote for him again. I followed through and didn't vote for Specter, and if everyone in PA had listened to me, he wouldn't be back in DC.

The Senate Committee has the nerve to be asking for money this morning...if you get a call, tell them no.

Great article, lots of good information. Get Involved!

Priority 1: Remove Specter from Judiciary (Day 6)

Urgent!  Committee Assignments are being made THIS WEEK!  There are spots on the Judiciary Committee to be assigned.  Tell Sen. Frist and Sen Kyl we need Conservative members on the Judiciary and NO Arlen Specter!

Specter's in line for Chairman, but it can be Challenged!  It has happened in the past.  Moderate Lugar challenged the Great Jesse Helms for Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  A Challenger will have to come forward with the GOP members of the Judicial Committee meet on November 17th!  We need to find a member with the Courage to Challenge.
