School Backs Away from Food Confiscation Policy (Food Nazis!)

Steven Walley is seething over the "food police" at his son's school.
A letter from the Freedom Elementary School said the county's Health Services Agency plans to educate students and families about healthy eating habits and there was a list of acceptable foods.
It also warned: "We will take away from students any non-nutritious foods such as hot Cheetos or chips, sugary snacks, soda, etc."
Walley couldn't believe it. "The food police," he said, had gone too far.
"There's no law on the books that would allow this," Walley said. "They're saying if I send my kid to school with chips or a Hostess pie for lunch, they're gonna take it away from him. What gives them the right?"

The schools need to eliminate their all cheese all the time lunch menus and then they can tell us what kids can take to lunch.

First thought:
No soup for you!
Second thought:
OK, we won't confiscate *all* the junkfood. Maybe just those Ho-Hos. And are those Whachamacallits? I used to LOVE whachamacallits! I didn't even know they still made those. And those Necco mints... those can't be good for you... And those [voice trails off]

Maybe they meant Cheetos that one kid stole out of another kid's locker. And since all stolen merchandise automatically sports a big red STOLEN stamp, its easy to tell.
Believe me, these smart-alecky little whelps will be thanking their masters for this years from now. Because They Know Better Than You.

Like all things, healthy eating involves choices. The foods you deny someone become the foods they will do anything to have.

Man, I knew the left was a bunch of control freaks, but I didn't think it would come to this...not this soon anyway.
This is serious stuff, folks...just imagine what will happen when the PETA folks take over the school board:
"No meat for you!"
Think that's an exaggeration? Ask your parents if they ever would have thought they'd be taking kids' chips. Don't get lulled by the trap of gradualism.

I mean, who would want to eat bean sprouts or some other rabbit food when you could have fritos and a balogna sandwich with mustard?

The Centers for Disease Control recently published findings of a 1999-2002 survey that found 16 percent of American children between the ages of 6 and 19 are obese and school districts and health officials have been working to reduce that trend.Using the glass is more than half full you idiot "officials," your stats reveal that 84% of the children are not obese. And 100% of our children don't need your input on the matter one way or another. Teach them reading, writing and arithmetic. Then get out of their lives.

There are no vending machines in my daughter's school and carbonated beverages are not permitted, even brought from home. I think it is more because of the shaken/exploding can/bottle factor than anything else.

When I was a kid I went with my parents to the farmers market every weekend and stopped in the candy dealers there. I made a killing buying wholesale candy and selling it out of my backpack when they banned it at our school. Parents thought it was funny until I was caught, then the school came down hard on them. I still remember my dad getting in the principles face when he started blaming him for lack of discipline in our home. (Dad was a firm believer in spare the rod spoil the child but couldn't find fault in me making money selling chocolate to fat kids at a premium)

OK, let's do a quick re-cap...In CA, it is perfectly acceptable to put a scalpel in the back of his skull and suck out it's brains, to prevent him from being born alive..but once he is born, it is not OK to put junk food in him...just want to make sure I have all my facts straight before I call these people absolute a'holes.

"School Backs Away from Food Confiscation Policy" This is NOT a victory.
Firing the school officials involved and prohibiting them from ever holding any position within any school system again, now that would be a victory. Any thing less and they will have only learned to be more covert in promoting their fascism.
