As an Ia Drang vet, what's your take on the movie's accuracy?

Thanks for the heads up, Ronnie, but I'm so sorry I didn't catch this thread in time. I was offline for awhile earlier tonight.

Is "We Were Soldiers" being run again this week or weekend? If so, I'll ping my list to that information. Thanks!

.

MOORE, GALLOWAY and my take on "WE WERE SOLDIERS" is an 85% accuracy. Lt. Col. MOORE did not go charging up Chu Phong Mountain at the end of the Battle as depicted.

The North Vietnamese were beaten back so badly during their human wave assualts on Landing Zone X-Ray, due to Airmobilty, Artillery and our Hero Soldiers bringing in too much fire power on them, that they eventually backed off and retreated.

...Only to strike again with a vengeance at Landing Zone Albany a day later.

SAW THAT IT WAS ON TONIGHT and had the boys go rent it, This movie should be seen at least once a year. The awesome sacrifice of the warrior. I told my wife that a liberal couldn't possibly get through this film. Just too much reality for them

Do you mean that you served in that battle?? For real?? That's really, really cool. I enjoyed that movie a lot. Did the movie accurately portray this battle?
