Aaron Brown's snide shot of the day. Upon pointing out a photo in Stars and Stripes of some soldiers in Iraq who had earned Purple Hearts, during his Wednesday night "Morning Papers" segment on CNN's NewsNight, Brown sarcastically remarked: "Some day, one of them will run for President and someone will say they didn't earn the Purple Heart. Welcome to America."
Brown began his November 10 look at the Thursday newspapers, a segment in which he holds up big veloxes of front pages: "Okay, time to do morning papers. I've been on an airplane today. I have no voice left. What is it about airplanes that does that? I don't know. Stars and Stripes starts it off: 'U.S. Troops Control Most of Fallujah,' the headline. 'U.S. Officials Believe Most Insurgents Have Fled the City.' Look at this picture here, if you can. 'Troops' Bravery Honored in Iraq.' These are all Purple Heart winners. Some day, one of them will run for President and someone will say they didn't earn the Purple Heart. Welcome to America."
The photo Brown showcased was of a row of soldiers. For the story with the picture: www.estripes.com
The caption: "Nine soldiers from the 1st Infantry Division's 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment received Purple Hearts Tuesday at Forward Operating Base MacKenzie, Iraq, for injuries received this year during Operation Iraqi Freedom."
To see the front page of the November Stars and Stripes, look for the European or Middle East editions which carried the photo: www.estripes.osd.mil
The MRC's Ken Shepherd used our DVR system to grab a still shot of Brown pointing to the photo and that will be placed in the posted version of this CyberAlert item.
Looney Left Bump
Aaron Brown is an ASS. I can't stand his smug, poorly-concealed digs.
Shotokan, you think this doofus would benefit from sustained atemi?By your user name I can tell you are a refined gentleman.Me?i'd rather the old crude standby of ramming a head butt into his face ,followed bychecking how much elevation he'd achieve when my knee comes up....hard.What a pant loadAaron Brown deserves nothing but contempt.
I wonder how many of those Marines got three purple hearts, no hospital time or treatment, and an early ticket home to be a general's aide?
The first time I saw Aaron Brown, I thought he was some hack filling in for an absent Anchor. Even CNN can do better then this loser.
Someone ought to beat the meat off his head for that.
This pr*ck should be given a point spot on a squad of Marines. When he actually completes several combat patrol - with contact - then let him post his silly-@ss articles. If he refuses . . . beat his @ss with rifle butts and give him a medal.
Did he point out which one blew rice grains into his a## with a grenade?
This guy deserves an a$$ kicking.
I didn't notice a PH on his lapel.
They'd frag him.
Sure. We'll do that if they are pompous blue-blood primadonnas who write up their own recommendation for having three grains of rice dug out of their butt and are dumb enough to make it the center plank of a flaccid platform 30 years later.
Does Brown-nose think that our soldiers frequently work like the dickens to keep a 3mm long sliver of metal in his arm so that he can go get a Band-aid applied?
Brown-nose would be the first to squeal like the little pig he is if any enemy ever threatened his sorry butt. He's a girlie-man for all girlie-men.
If they lie about it, come home after 14 weeks to give false testimony before congress, call all their fellow servicemen rapists, murderers, and thugs, have the nerve to call ALL of his fellow officers and entire chain of command LIARS, then HELL YES, I WANT TO KNOW ABOUT IT, NOT HAVE IT HIDDEN BY COMRADES IN THE MEDIA!!!!!!!!!
Actually, Mr. Kerry filmed three hours of footage while in theatre to share with friends and family. They were disappointed that he was on the footage for a mere 15 seconds.
"They'd frag him."
One always has hope.
One well placed Mawashi-Geri to the temple...leave him for the buzzards.
Why don't you sign it, JFnK?
Kerry was surounded by a mix, mostly honset, hard-working, hard-fighting and honest guys -- but not all of them so. I would expect that to be the case today, with the caveat that in an all volunteer force, it is more difficult to find malcontents.
At the very least, he should have to switch spots with Jane Arraf -- she sounded like she was going to soil herself as she talked with Aaron Brown last night.
Aaron Brown - better hope some soldier doesn't come after him and smack some knots on his head.
I like that jab!
My E-mail to Aaron Brownpants was much, shall we say, stronger. I doubt the little cowardly girlie man will answer mine.
Brown's never got over the fact that he never lived up to his hype. He jumped to CNN at exactly the wrong time, just as it was about to begin its precipitous decline. Now he's become the poster boy for its poor ratings.
I wouldn't rate him that high.
I didn't know Mr. Brown knew Kerry's purple hearts are fake.
Lately I've learned how Goebbels succeeded and why Stalin called these people "useful idiots".
Just amazes me that these people have NEVER stopped to read history.
Oh, I think that's a good start. POS fits.
Also, I doubt any of our Marines in Iraq are pulling a rice kernal out of their ass and claiming Purple Heart rights as a result. What a POS Aaron Brown is. See, it fits.
I have lived in the Seattle area for over 30 years. Brown was a local news reader for many years prior to moving to MSNBC. He had a reputation in the local area as an egotistical poof as the Brits say.
CNN has as much relevance to our nation's political life, as Home Shopping Network.
The soldiers in Iraq tend to reinlist rather than cut & run after 3 1/2 months of combat and bandaid wounds. The veterans returning from Iraq after honorable service won't get spit on, like Kerry and his fellow traitors did to Vietnam Vets.
They have always questioned the heroics of Republicans. G.H.B. and Dole included.
The difference this election was that the questioning led to the realization Kerry's heroic status was nothing but a self advanced myth. Aaron is understandably bitter that they STILL lack a legitimate war hero that espouses liberal doctrine. Powell comes closest to their dream, and he chose to align himself with Republicans. LOL
What a t()rd!
This chicken-feces snotball compared real soldier's wounds to the fraud kerry's self-awarded tin. Brown is beneath contempt.
The differnce will be that this mans records will be made public and he won't have 250 other men who served with him calling him a opportunist and a liar!
I was going to let fly some serious verbage, but you pretty much said everything I wanted to.
What a deek. This clown has always had something wrong with him. I don't understand how he stays employed.
"Some day, one of them will run for President and someone will say they didn't earn the Purple Heart. Welcome to America."
Well, if some of the recipients turn anti-war activists and traitor, or if it turns out they had to lobby their CO for the award because the wound only required a bandaid and was caused by their on fire...then maybe they will be questioned some day.
What a odious moron this fellow must be!
I can't recall who the 'embed' was, but I remember during the original push into Iraq a reporter got caught up in the action of the unit he was grafted into. He wrote a white-hot, searing indictment of other media slime and their pretense of objectivity and he drew upon his real-life patrol with an armored unit under fire.
He was terrific! He helped direct fire against the "M-F'rs" that were shooting at his homeys. The tankers spit .50's into the nest of slime that were shooting at our laddies and reduced them to room temperature. Our scribbler rejoiced! The tone and reception of that article launched a series of critical pieces that questioned the role of the reporter in combat positions and the likely allegience forged in the fire of combat.
In short, that 'embed' won his pay and the thanks of the troops. Wish more would do the same.
"..a photo in Stars and Stripes of some soldiers in Iraq who had earned Purple Hearts,.."
I looked for the story. Perhaps over the weekend I'll have more time to find it.
